They got me. After spending a few thousands of dollars on great products I went through AGO today to see if I could place an order for 20% off and it happened. Nothing to buy, nothing to try, nothing to replenish.

I have perfected paint on four vehicles, enough stock of products to last five years, a cabinet full of pads, 4 DAs, a high capacity spotless water system and most importantly an understanding wife.

All thanks to this forum and a few others. No regrets, no buyer’s remorse and so much envy from the neighbors.

A special thanks to all of the pro detailers who give up and share all of their trade secrets, providing expert advice and guidance to serious hobbyists like myself.

I was going to get a Carrera S but I couldn't get a decent price here in NorCal and there are already two on my street. Second choice was an M3 but it was too long for the allocated space in our garage. The stock M3 is sweet. Third choice was a hot hatch (RS, R or STi). There is already an STi on my street and two more in the neighborhood and I was intrigued by the R and RS. The NorCal Honda dealers were being real jerks during pre-launch and were taking orders way over list so I decided not to wait. I found a store I could order an RS at MSRP so I opted to wait 4 months for it to arrive in Feb 2017. The R is very rare around here and an intriguing piece of engineering but I'm happy with the RS, especially after I tuned it. It blows away a friend's SS and keeps up with another friend's 650HP '18 Z06 so I'm happy with it. It only has 1200 miles on it including one track day at Laguna Seca. I have "driven" Laguna Seca so many times on the Playstation with Gran Turismo that I felt I knew the track really well. It turned out that the simulator is very close to the real thing!!!

I do the same, Its more then a few thousand right? Give it time you'll find more stuff to buy

Have you considered the Vapamore steam vacuum? Its pretty good
 
OP is very accurate. With the current sale I have been trying to figure what I "need" all week. Maybe some jeweling wax and tire cleaner...definitely a great place for the enthusiast to to hang out with the pros.

What's all done to the RS, Mountune? Are you worried at all with the recent issues with them?

I am ALMOST there, but then a new system will come out and then you have to get all new products to maintain ...........

This. Despite all the sales from black Friday up until now, pretty much the only significant purchase has been a gift certificate so I could snatch a discounted Duetto.

Guess I've finally settled on a limited selection of 'working products' that dictate purchasing only when bottles near empty.

Outside of targeted items like specific coatings I want to try (I'm a junkie in this area) very little in the 'functional' category of products warrants a purchase besides refills.

The car looks pretty stock from the outside. The tune and suspension mods are all pretty much hidden unless you look under the car or under the hood or at the dyno report. I'm still working on splitters and haven't found anything that looks promising yet. I removed the "Focus" badge and added a Ford Performance one on the right side. I added a custom RS inlay from the UK on the rear wing mount and you can see the Magnaflow tips in the rear (pics attached) but other than that, it looks dead stock for now, but it doesn't perform that way at the track or when I'm opening it up on the highway.

I've tried a few "systems" but I'm pretty much locked into a Wolfgang system for the Focus and a combo of McKees/Collinite/OCW on the other vehicles. I'm quite satisfied with the results. I don't use Wolfgang for all of them because of the cost of the spray wax. My can(s) of Fuzion will probably last me 150 more years, though.

I wanted to get a gift certificate but I was overseas when it was active and I could not pay for it from there for some reason. PayPal and my credit card did not work. I missed it.

I got to my wife through her friends. They commented how her car looks like it just came off the showroom floor and then when they come over they see all the vehicles look this way. It didn't take long for her to realize that our paint is special and different from others. I also started pointing out "good" paint from "average" paint when we would walk through the parking lot at the mall. She soon figured it out and learned what to look for.

I would've put that Ford Racing badge where the Focus one used to be, I like symmetry and where it is now it's just too cluttered IMO. Besides that little niggle the car sounds like a beast and I bet people are blown away by what it CAN do out there on the track! I know there's RS' out there putting down 450 whp and that's nothing to sneeze at ===============

This is also my sentiment however I am reserving the left side for an authentic Deutschland oval badge once I can locate one. I’m still researching this.
