Lets see technically the problem can be traced a few years back, however I will skip to the more recent reasons.

As some know, during the end of the summer, I moved down to Tampa from Douglasville, Ga due to ongoing alcaholic abuse from my stepmother, of which my Dad is a great guy, but wouldn't do anything about it even when my Grandparent$ offered him money to buy a house under their name so we could get out. He never even took off a day of work to atleast look. So that was the last straw, I asked my Mom to file for custody, and she won hands down.

So after we finally get my merrit records from the atlanta area council since my Scoutmaster previous had stolen our popcorn fund raiser funds picked up and vanished to somewhere in AL to reside on a property owned by his mother. No one knows where he is, and the people that do wont talk.

So thank God I had a copy of my records. I transfer in here to Florida in my new troop. I finish my Eagle Scout Service Project which took a Grand Total of ~86 hours from start to finish. We go and turn the project in, and they say oh, everything including my Eagle Board of Review was due today. A little fact the lady at the scout hq left out.

So now we had to write letters, send in more records, etc... SO theres a slight chance I can get a month to have my board of review done.

Please pray for me in this, Ive worked hard 9 years to obtain this honor, and now I see it being thrown away because of some dumb ass receptionist giving false information, who is now denying it.

Thanks for Reading,

Ryan

I know when I did mine they told me that if I could prove that I had been working on it they would give me an extension on it for up to 3 months. I have no doubt that they will work with on this one.

Why would your paperwork be due like that are you about to turn 18?

Ryan, you are to be commended on earning this award, but please remember it will be all the more special once you move thru this paperwork nightmare. Never has anything easy meant as much as something you were challenged on, and percerviered over ! Dont get upset, use your head, you'll be surprised at what you will accomplish.

Ryan,
I will definitely pray for you. I am sure if you have records that they are finished before your 18th birthday you should be ok. I ran into similar problems myself when I got mine. It just so happened that my 18th birthdate is also my Eagle scout date. Thats how close it was for me. The lady should have told you that you had to have your board of review....geez.

Well said killr, I had nightmares with mine as well, but it definitely made it worth it in the end. Keep your head up Ryan, I am sure it will work out for the best!

thanks for the replies. The project was pretty much done before my 18th bday, it took so long to get my records down. After getting all the ok's they are almost flat out denying what they told us. Its going to national now, and I hope they see my case well.

*crosses fingers*

Ryan,
You seem like a really nice guy and it sounds like you deserve to make Eagle Scout. It'll work out for you. I wish I would have talked to you at DF. I just kinda introduced myself and that was about it. Sorry.

Ryan,
I am not familiar with Eagle Scouts, but it certainly sounds as though you have earned it.
I will keep you in my prayers and I sincerely wish you the best of luck. We are all rooting for you, buddy!
Just another of life's challenges that make us stronger people; I hope you win this one! (And even if you don't, it does not mean you were not worthy. God works in mysterious ways. Maybe one day, we will all understand.)
Blessings,

Good luck Ryan. We had a chance to talk a few times thru out the day and I could tell you were a hard working young man. I gave up in the middle of my Eagle Scout project and regret it every day. I joined the Explorers and while I enjoyed every moment of that, I should have kept with the project and finished what I started.

It will work out. My prayers are out for you my friend. Take care.

Warmest Regards,

Chris J.

Hope you can make this work out for you.
Just remember that hard work pays off in the long run.

Thanks everyone. I called up my Scoutmaster who has been active i nthe area for over 20 years. He is going to write a letter of recommendation and fax it tonight, so is my project sponsor.

So I think it MIGHT happen! Thanks for all the support and compliments, dont flatter me too much! Im just a kid!

rule number one: NEVER put yourself down to others; they will gladly do it for you.
Never say you are "just" something, because that's not the truth!
