Werkstat?

Havent tried them, but I hear good things. The Werkstat twins are supposed to be great for lighter colors and want to pick them up for the Evo.

I used it several times a couple years back when new. The Prime Strong was the best offering, and the carnuaba offerings we just as finicky as the acrylic offerings.

These products, Werkstatt, are directly related to Klasse. They are designed by Carlack and newer formulas. They are still super finicky to use, and near bulletproof when used properly together. The dedicated Glos spray was a welcome addition, and unlike Klasse AIO, they offered three different versions called Prime.

I want to try some of their carnuba and Acrylic Jett and maybe the prime.

I just revisited Prime Strong and besides the little dusting (when the pad goes dry) it really cleaned the paint. You just have to keep the pad damp to keep dusting down. First go around I was a bit let down but this past weekend it changed my opinion.

Jeff Werkstat products work great if you use them sparingly. Just like the Klasse products, do not use too much or you will be buffing your arms off. One thing I noticed which helps make the buffing easier is using Polycharger. Great products!

Sorry but I don't get much good results from Prime:Acrylic & JW AJ. Not much slickness, durability or shinny for me. Average IMO. I just like the beautiful design of the labels on the btl.....

Agreed.. after all the hype, I was sadly dissapointed

Thanks for the heads up. I was just curious because the prices are reasonable but didn't know how good the products were.

Werkstatt is far superior to Klasse and what all of you americans don't seem to understand is that to easily remove acrylic sealants, you should be using hot or warm damp microfibre towels and not leave the prime on for more than 10 to 30 mins

Also the slickness of acrylic's is not as good as Glare, Permagard or the polymer sealants sold here.

Prime acrylic is best used by orbital though I used to get away with it by rotary (watch out for holograms)
The refractive index of the acrylic polymers in it makes the reflections much clearer, sharper and straight, not bowed or bent over
It also has the tendency to bury orange peel in the clear permanently (my car is one of those that it worked on)

I adored AJT, what a brilliant product, spray on, buff in, wipe off and sensational protection

The products are best suited to light coloured metallics where muting or filling of metal flake is not wanted
A pure sealant like Prime and AJT, allow the light to do it's thing, far better than any wax.

the range has it's place on my warehouse product shelving but is seldom used as I do black cars 99% of the time
Oh - I highly recommend Werkstatt satin protect aka Carlack 68 plastic care - awesome silicone free product for preparing tyres, rubber seals and textured plastics for protective gel's, creams or sprays

I would challenge this assessment, as paint sealants (this is what Werstatt truly is an acrylic based synthetic wax) should not see water for several hours to offer the best durability and protection. It sounds to me like you have found a way around its finicky removal but I would suggest you "likely" are cutting down on length of protection, and maybe final looks. Have you spoken with Jeff or Carlack directly about your findings ??

I doubt the basis (acrylic or water) for the sealant allows such a difference in setting/curing properly but would love to see proof one way or another. ie. one can see water introduced without issue where the other essentially drowns or discourages maximum protection and adhesion to paint.

I think what people don't seem to understand is that if you are having to use unusual techniques such as hot water to remove Werkstat, you used too much. These words are straight from Jeff Brandt, president of Jeff's Werkstat.

When I apply Acrylic Jett I continue to work it in and continue spreading it to elimate "high points" that will need to be buffed out. I continue spreading until I can not longer see it on the paint, only the shine it gives off while it is still wet. I use less than half an ounce (approx 15 ml) in one application. When doing so, buffing with a dry towel is almost effortless.

In an e-mail from Jeff Brandt, he has mentioned that professional detailers have mentioned to him they get around 50 uses per bottle. That equates to using about a third of an ounce. I would imagine most people are using way too much of the product resulting in their difficulties removing it.

I have no problem with AJT as I spray it on, I'm reffering to the prime acrylic
using too much is definately the main problem people have with it

haven't used it for several months, as I stated, do black cars mostly
Yeah jeff and I have emailed back and forth for some time, though not for four months or so

Usually I leave prime on, then spray AJT over the top and buff it in with a towel and then use a second towel to remove all of it
