Werner Aluminum Work Platform; 17 bucks @ Lowes!

picked one up from HD yesterday, they originally had 31 of them in the store and were down to the last few! Im the MAN
 
I ordered mine online @lowes.com had one waiting on me before the doors opened Friday. Picked up Saturday morning. Used it today.
 
My HD price matched as well - none in stock so they pulled the display off the shelf, showed them the lowes add on my phone and done deal - price match + 10%, can't beat that!

yeah i know, menards is sort of an eastern half of the country kind of store. although, depending on shipping, might still be worth it. okay, maybe not.

Customer service gives various answers to the same question. Luckily, I had a competent customer service rep at Home Depot that sold me the $44 Werner while the manager was pushing the $17 Gorilla model...perseverance won out and I took the price match.

I think that the busy holiday ticked off the cust. serv. reps. to the point that some won't perform as expected...say whatever necessary to get to the next customer, and eventually the end of the shift.

for those who missed out on this, HF has a small compact platform for $19.99 w/ coupon. may be too small for some, just throwing it out there...

I seen this in person the other day. It actually seemed really well made all things considered, but it is really small (and short) compared to the Werner.

for someone mobile with limited space, this would be a good option... :xyxthumbs:
 
i was lucky enough to find the werner platform on black Friday! here it is along with all my black Friday purchases :xyxthumbs:

it will come in handy working on SUV's and even make working on roofs of sedans easier!
 
I'm very disappointed right now. I got an email from lowe's because I was waiting for my platform to show up from black friday. Well it turns out they were "sold out" and I wasn't able to get mine for $17.

It makes me a little angry that when I ordered it they were in stock, but after waiting 3 weeks, they were sold out. On the website it says the item is discontinued.
 
Discontinued??? No way. I love mine. I'd easily pay $100 to replace it if it broke and they were not available. It's perfect height, size, and folds for easy storage. I even bring it to the coin-op.

I know it's not discontinued because home depot sells them. Maybe if I brought my receipt to a local lowes they could price match it if they carried the platform?
 
That's odd? I myself didn't succeed locally, they were totally sold out here.

But I was able to go online, and did finally succeed when I added another $3 item to qualify to spend minimum $20 and get free shipping. I needed a new 20A Dual AC Outlet in the house, as it was acting up a bit.

The outlet came quickly in a small seperate box, then I waited a good while for the Werner Stool to arrive, and it finally came about 10-12 days ago. Almost a month it took. It was fully boxed-encased, came FedEx, and I sort of chuckled, thinking that the shipping probably cost close to, if not more than what the Stool itself had cost.

As has been mentioned, I would investigate, and call your local Lowes, and explain what happened, that the system didn't work for you, and they just might honor that sale for you, and get you your Stool. Sure worth a try. Mark

The 250 pound one is listed as discontinued at Northern Tool also.

But Home Depot had the 300 pound capacity one for $77.00
The same one just sold on Ebay for $108.00 and is shown at several other stores for $177.00

I think I'll head over to HD and take a look at one.
