After having to be creative this weekend on a Jeep and Ram I am going to look for something to stand on. I see the Werner work stand mentioned but with this limited weight of 225 its not going to work. I checked HD and found a few but wondering what others have come up with that may perhaps be plus sized??

Disclaimer:
Things might have changed here recently that I'm not aware of...
But...The basic rule-of-thumb for manufactures of temporary, non-suspended work platforms to follow, is to build and test them where they'll meet or exceed an engineering-factor of at least 1.25-1.50 times the load limit.

So...
Has the manufacturer of this Werner platform proven to be a responsible member of the World's manufacturing community...
that has shown due diligence in following engineering standards for temporary work platforms?

Not that I will ever, ever endorse doing so:
I have, and use, two of these Werner platforms quite
often---and not just when detailing---and I do exceed (by a rather sizable plus-amount) the stated load limit of 225 lbs.
Note:
Got mine on sale for ~$17, if I remember correctly.

In conclusion:
Choose wisely, the equipment to use, when considering working above ground level.
Higher rated temporary work platforms are readily available...For a few more dollars.

Griots, through their site, offers a 500 lb capacity platform, for around $170.

There are not may inexpensive options, like the Werner, for us less-than-svelte detailers

Northern tool has 2 rated at 330lbs, price range between 40 and 45 dollars and another I believe it was at 1000lbs for around $150.

The ones listed at 330lb are sold as wel-bilt on amazon also and have great reviews.Sounds like a winner going to NT to pick it up!

Let us know what you decide.
