Wet Sanding gone wrong

Yea Willy i did place a order for a few MF cutting and polishing pads. My wife is gonna kill me i spent over 600 bucks this months on stuff. lol

Well i used 3000 grit sand paper baby steps and it did come out. I also had to give the compound more time. I guess I must not have used the PA with compound long enough.

Thanks boys for all the support. Many more questions and issues to come in the future. lol

Thanks for the follow-up and good to hear everything worked out fine.

Like I always say,

"Polishing paint is an art form, it requires the right pads, products and tools plus the human elements of care and passion"

Plus practice, practice practice. And the help from forum members like you find on AGO is a real blessing too...

Im with zach on this. On a test panel I was actually able to polish out 1500 grit with the flex XC 3401 with orange lake country cutting pad and fg400.

Gotta say there's a world of difference in power between the 3401 and a PC. Both tools are nice but in a different way.

Yes there is but I was able to get out 1500 without even going to a microfiber pad; hell not even the most aggressive foam pad.

Some clear coats are much harder than others making it more difficult to compound out sanding scratches, compared to softer clears. Try wet sanding and buffing freshly sprayed clear that's sat just overnight... let me tell ya it's pure pleasure :)

Well I went with a PC as it was my first polisher and I read it is very forgiving for a noob like me lol. I could use as much force on it as possible and i won't damage my paint where if i was using a different polisher MAYBE i might have messed up my paint. I can tell you that I will buy a more aggressive polisher when my PC dies on my.
