Wetsanding a car from start to finish - Time Lapse Video

A HUGE thank you to Yancy for all his hard work and talent to capture this event and then create the video for the rest of us to enjoy. I don't think anything like this has ever been done before? At least I've never seen a time lapse video capture of a car being wetsanded, cut and buffed from start to finish anywhere on the web ever. Another "first" for the industry brought you you by Autogeek.net and AutogeekOnline.net

Without further ado...

Wetsanding a car from start to finish - Time Lapse Video

Here's Yancy setting the GoPro Camera up for this project...

Here's Yancy doing what he does best...

Excellent work Yancy...

:dblthumb2:

Yancy, the video turned out great. Nice work!

Yancy, great job on the video! The GoPro is one great piece of equipment.

Okay, Yancy moved all the pictures taken by 5 different cameras to a single drive where I can access them. I've done this before where you have to work with multiple different "file names" and "numbers" for pictures and it's very time consuming. So what I've done is taken and pulled through as many of Dave's pictures and processed them in consecutive order as he took them...

Next I'll take a look the rest of the pictures and if I find more that show action I'll upload them...

Here's Ben the painter and me talking before we do our Test Spot. Before sanding down an entire car I recommend performing the entire process to one small section and dialing-in your process and prove the system. Then once you prove your system approach will work simply duplicate it over the rest of the car...

After sanding, compounding and polishing everyone inspects the results very carefully and agreed the results look great...

Now everyone digs in and starts duplicating the process to the various panels first then we'll tackle the body shell...

OUTSTANDING JOB Yancy!

Seeing everything from 'on high' really adds a whole new perspective to what all was going on. If one didn't know what was being done, it looks like mass confusion.

Great job...

WOW awesome, wish I was there.

Maybe someday we'll be working on a project near you?

I agree. I've seen some of the video he's creating from this project and so far he's killing it too... that is it's coming out great!

Hi Wes,

I sent the link to this thread out to my e-mail list, I'll double check to make sure you're e-mail gets added.

:xyxthumbs:

After driving over five hours, I walked in the door of Wes' shop and there stands another AutogeekOnline member that had taken the same drive from the east coast of Iowa to attend this event. Indeed a small world.

Thanks to Wes and his family for welcoming us into his "home" for this one-of-a-kind event and introducing us to Doc and the interesting story of this extended family and this unique car.

Thanks to Ben1 for giving us a paint job worthy of this event and Ben2 and Paul hard workers, who traveled great distance to lend a hand in the time consuming task of preparing this car for it's holiday journey and the countless other folks who stopped by to help out.

Thanks to all the sponsors for providing equipment, tools and products for this project. It was tempting to load up the car before heading home. Thanks Bob of Flex for the food!!

Thanks to the experts from Autogeek; Yancy for his technical skills and production abilities, Bruno, who worked through a bothersome cold to be the consummate in-show professional, and Mike the instructor-to-all who allowed me to play twenty questions while he multi-tasked.

I've include this panorama photo to give an overview of the "TV Studio".

Thanks for allowing me to stand around while you guys did all the work :)
