When i wrecked my R6 in the pea gravel, the right side of my bike slid in the pea gravel. The front piece around the headlight was not sandable b/c it was thru the paint, and it was cheap enough, so i bought a brand new piece. But the black side pieces are damn expensive and hard to find in good shape used, so im wetsanding them.
I did buy some mint side middle pieces on ebay, spent 100 bucks shipped for over 600 bucks worth of stuff on ebay, both side pieces in mint condition!!! couldnt beat that deal!!!!
here is one of the pieces im working on.
I used a spray bottle of water
1000 grit
2000 grit
3000 grit foam pad
Menzerna Super Intensive Polish
Menzerna Nano Finish Polish
WolfGang Sealant when its all done
this is the test spot i did to make sure i was using good enough grit sandpaper. 1-2-3000 grits are perfect!!!!
close up of test spot after i used all the grits and polishes
after using 1000 grit
after using 2000 grit
then i used the 3000 grit foam pad and the polishes.
the long scratch you see was there whewn i bought it.
