We've run out of ideas, do you have any?

This is mind boggling with all these pads and backing plate configurations.Use pinnacle compound and polish with one to cut and one to polish ,people make it so confusing to the new guys on the forum. If you still have promblems we can't help with no pics everyone opinion to help you is a mystery with out close up pics good luck.

I'm planning to purchase a 6 pack of the 5.5" flat pads for my PC742. I need to make a decision on which color combo to go with. If I simply take one of each, I will need to select a color for the extra pad. The color options are yellow, orange, white, blue and black. I'm just using these product on my own cars, one is a black garage queen if it matters.

The pads I currently have are . . .
LC CCS 6.5"
2 orange
2 white
1 blue
LC CCS 4"
2 orange
2 white
1 blue
1 black
Not sure what brand these are, they can with the PC package
5" flat
2 red

Any suggestions on which 5.5" flat pad colors I should go with? Should I keep the 6.5" pads or sell them? Lastly, I have Pinnacle Swirl, Polish, Souveran, but do not have a compound. Should I stay within the family and get the Pinnacle compound or go with Wolfgang Uber compound?

Any suggestions would be appreciated

The same colors (orange, white, and grey) would be fine in the CCS, Or flat.

I love the Lake Country Hydrotech pads on the PC with Menzerna or Meguiar's compounds and polishes.

You know, if you talk to five different guys you're going to get five different answers. Mike P. is a solid choice. He showed you the type of pad to get. He told you the orange ones would work. So get at least 3 of the orange ones. The other 3? Well you don't need wax spreaders (The pads you have can do that.). So, it would be between the yellow, more orange, or white to finish with the 205.

Umm... This thread is 3yrs old.
All I know is we never saw any pics of the situation, and never got an update on what happened. Why bother..

People dont make it confusing it is confusing. It's a skill that has to be learned through experience. People expect everything to be simple and easy but it doesn't work that way. People can't expect to become detailing experts just because they spent an afternoon reading threads on Autogeek.

It's not the fault of the forum trying to help people it's people expecting to much from little effort. The forums are a bunch of people giving their opinions on technique and products. If someone wants to actually learn they should start with a Mike Phillips book but understand that you're not gonna be an expert right off the bat
