I was wondering the same thing when I saw the sewing machine comment.

Had a good friend who did that at a big birthday party for his wife years ago. Room was full of people, but when she unwrapped it, you could of heard a pin drop. If there hadn't been so many people in the house, he probably would have needed a proctologist to remove the box.

Now if that's what she *really* wants, it's a whole different story.
 
My wife wanted and got a new 400 sq ft shed for all her gardening stuff....just need to put a bow on it!!

We haven't done anything for each other in years, but decided to spend $100 on gifts for each other, instead always buying what we want, when we want it.

Got her a 2 hour massage. Made the appointment and put tip money in the card too. New Years Eve will be one hell of day for her!

If I was spending $500, would have been Diamonds/jewelry.
 
I ended up going to Coach and buying a Coach leather jacket + 3.3 oz of Burberry Brit eau de parfum + 3.3 oz of the original Burberry eau de parfum.

The jacket - I'm not sure if I like the cut... Receipt saved.

I bought my girlfriend a Barbour Beadnell jacket with hood and a nice fuzzy barbour zip in liner. Total was $60ish more than your budget but it's a lifetime item that'll last forever.
