Mine is a new black honda. What clay should i use if not CG’s fine grade?

Get yourself some of the Pinnacle Ultra Poly Clay. I use it on new vehicles and it’s never marred a thing.

The Meguiars OTC clay is pretty good too. Certainly not bad by any means.

Lots of lubrication is always a must no matter which media you choose. I prefer regular clay bar to the mitts and towels. I only use a mitt or towel on a relatively clean car. If its even mildly contaminated I will use clay.

I've always wonder how long people would keep using their towels and mitts if the rubber surface was white instead of black. I bet the white surface would look so gnarly after a few cars, that people would stop using them a lot sooner.

People that use the optimum clay towel (according to the Facebook group) will occasionally spray power clean onto the rubberized portion, which is white, and it cleans it up very well.

Anecdotally, on my fine/medium grade nanoskin sponges I also did this once I read about it, and I can confirm a lot of muck came off.

Leads me to believe if you were to give them a spray or two and rinse them after each use, they’d probably stay in very good condition.

I fill up a bucket with extra strong car wash solution just past the grit guard. Then I use the grit guard to clean the Nanoskins. When I pull it out, the sponge part is soaked and I've got plenty of slick soap solution as lubricant. It's more movement, but both hands are free. I don't need to spray off the sponges and I don't need to spray on clay lube. I can keep a sponge in each hand. The grit guard does a good job of removing the particulates from the clay surface quickly and I can clay a car pretty fast this way - and get some exercise.
