What about Mother's products?

I'll add in something else from Mother's that I have and that I do like, and found to be a pretty good price also- the Mother's Gold Clay Kit..

Best bang for the buck on the market! Advance auto runs coupon deals for online orders, those kits end up being $12 for two bars of clay, a nice towel and a bottle of QD.

Update, I had my first clay-bar exercise. I figured after the hurricane and how dirty my car became it was time. It seemed to work out well. Just performed the following on the hood of my car (don't laugh - just didn't have the time to do the whole car).

1- Mother's Clay Bar
2- Mother's Sealer & Glaze
3- Mother's Reflections Wax (Liquid)
4- Mother's Reflections Top Coat

I debated on the Top Coat product because I have a light-colored car (VW CC Iron Gray). The forum posts here and on Amazon didn't lead me to believe I would see much benefit. I was pleasantly surprised by the deeper shine it provided. I left one small area without the top coat (temporarily) and noticed it was a bit lighter. It was subtle but noticeable if you were looking for a difference. I doubt anyone would have noticed. The way this top coat went on the car was also pretty cool; much more silky and smooth compared to the wax (therefore I focused on a thin coat. It had been a couple of days now and want to put another layer of top coat. I plan on doing an ONR QD and then will put another layer of Top Coat.

Next step will be to do the driver door panel with the above steps, and then do a comparison with the passenger door (substituting Dodo Juice Light Fantastic Wax in #3).

Comments anyone?

I use Mother's Gold Cleaner Wax and Reflections Top Coat and Tire Spray regularly and am very pleased with the results. In the past I've spent alot more and got alot less.

I have used Mothers products with some success . One product that I dislike is there clay but I do like the MF towel that comes with the kit. The clay itself seemed to fall apart after a little use one car. But I will be trying other products of there's when I am back to work and can afford to place an order with AG

How about a bump for the fine products that only Mothers makes.

Hey Bob,

Remember this thread? Well...

We took a tour of Preble County's covered bridges....remarkable structures. Even more remarkable: We were told that five of them are still used for daily traffic!

:wow:

Bob

Yep, used every day...and I've had the pleasure of working on all of them...

EDIT:

...with the exception of a replacement and new "double barrel bridge" that will go back in it's rightful place near Hueston Woods State Park with construction scheduled to start yet this fall.

...the new "replacement" double barrel bridge is finished and open for your viewing pleasure. You should take a nice sunny saturday morning and make the trip to see her. I promise it will be worth the drive. Even has sidewalks on eash side. It's a beautiful and massive structure.

While I have used Mother's products with great success, including their clay bar system, I prefer the Griot's Garage Clay Bar over the Mother's.
It is a larger clay bar and is denser so it doesn't fall apart. I use a round hand held applicator and form the clay bar to fit into the applicator which cuts down time and effort in claying the vehicle. It can also be used with the Griot's Orbital Polisher but the hand applicator work well for me. I have always had good results using Mother's waxes and polishes in the past but now that I'm using Griot's Garage Products and their orbital polisher. I prefer to use their polishes, waxes and sealers with excellent results.

I have a GMC Acadia w/ Mothers Carnauba Paste, topped with OCW.... and a Volkswagen CC with a coat of 845 topped with 915. Both are still going strong and surviving the winter with ease. I absolutely loved putting Mothers on with my Flex and a Red Pad, was fun.

On my CC, the beads seems to be loosening up a bit (larger beads). The Acadia may be looking better. It's raining here overnight so I can check them out in the morning and compare them better.

FYI... both have been washed with no additional topping.

I love Mother's microfiber that came with a clay kit which was my first microfiber and clay. The towel is awesome. One of other experiences of Mother's is a cleaner wax that was I think one generation older version and it was one of the two detailing products that I ever thrown into a trash bin before consuming all.:o

Im a big fan of Mother's interior stuff. They smell great and work good. Their reflections line is awesome.

I just used Mother's F/X tire shine today on my wife's G8. I had used this product many years ago,and I really liked it. I heard the F/X had been improved, and I liked the results I had seen people getting using it. This stuff is awesome! The F/X left a nice black look with just the right amount of shine. Not too matte, and not too shiny!

The product is cheap, and the bottle should last a long time too.

I believe that all of the Mother's Products will do a fantastic job. I've never been disappointed with any of the Mother's Products I have used on the interior, exterior, wheels, and plastic on any of my vehicles.

They do make quality products that work! A lot of times it comes down to personal preference and brand loyalty but as long as the products work as advertised no one should be disappointed in using any of their products.
