What about new cars, I was just about to buy Menzerna Power Lock Polymer Sealant

I truly like Powerlock because it looks exceptional and provides excellent durability. Not to mention it's extremely to apply and remove.

What I find funny is the few people here that have had complete opposite results and I have to ask why? The one thing I keep seeing time and time again from those who aren't experiencing the same results as I am is that they are 'topping' Powerlock with something else. Whether it be with a liquid, paste, or spray wax, all of the complaints I've seen have to do with a 'topping'. What I really think people are seeing is the true LSP failing and 'muddying the waters' of the performance of Powerlock. I don't top Powerlock with anything except a second coat of Powerlock.

The other failures I've seen I attribute to the use of a glaze prior to Powerlock. Polish, clean the surface, Powerlock. Anything between Powerlock and your paint is a recipe for failure.

I have one vehicle that is garaged at home and at work with a 10 minute daily commute max. and the Powerlock still beads and sheets like it did after the first wash...6 months later. I have it on another vehicle that sits outside 24/7 in the Nor-Cal sun. I get 3-4 months of solid protection from an application of Powerlock. By no means is it non-existent at that point, I just prefer to re-up the protection. This vehicle was bought new, polished with SF4000 and then Powerlock'd within days of purchasing.

You won't be disappointed with Powerlock.

I'd agree except topping it with another Menzerna product, namely color lock. Also you'd be hard pressed to compare Nor Cal sun to Florida sun and a summer of daily tropical rains nearly every day for 4 months. That beats the heck out the paint and truly tests durability of a product. Looks like Bay area gets avg of 19" of rain a year, we got 41" of rain Jun- September! Key factor too, my vehicles are not garage kept so 41" of rain beat on that stuff. Klasse far out performed the Menzerna.

I'm not saying Klasse isn't a great product. I actually like it, but my preference is Powerlock.

Have you tried Powerlock with no topper at all, including Colorlock? If so, what results did you experience? Was your Powerlock applied to bare paint? As you know, Colorlock is just a liquid carnauba wax, nothing special really, and I haven't seen a single stellar report about it's longevity. I like the look it provides, but I don't expect it to last very long.

You're right about our rainfall, it's much less than you experience, but our air quality is extremely poor compared to FL, so what does fall with our rain isn't exactly LSP friendly. The reality is also that sun exposure is reducing your LSP longevity far more than your rainfall amounts. We typically only see rainfall between the end of October and beginning of March. The rest of the year it's typically full sun, all day, every day so we get plenty of exposure here.

In Tampa, on the bay, black paint, and I chose M105, M205, 10% IPA, then Power Lock. 86 degrees at 7:50pm :)

so do you fellow neighbors wash your car with water before or after your water softner when sealing your car?

Na versus Ca? NA = less spots, but salt is corrosive to seal in right

Yes, I did my wifes white Altima with it, again fail, longevity for beading less than 30 days, not saying it wasn't still giving some protection but it's nothing compared to Klasse combo. The Klasse has far out performed the PL in the Tampa climate. As far as sun exspoure, all kidding aside, take a look at the latitude of Tampa compared to Nor Cal. Our uv ray intensity is way higher down here, that's just a climatological fact. All you have to do is spend a few days down here and see the number of trashed out paint jobs on late model cars, oh and you guys don't have love bugs, that's a whole nother story. Come on down and spend a summer here, we'd welcome you, a couple days of our summer humidity and you'd be running to the airport:laughing:

I grew up and lived in NJ for 30 years, about 20 mins from the coast. I also spent quite a bit of time in my late teens and early twenties fishing the Gulf by way of Ft. Meyers. I know your weather and your climate. I don't miss the east coast humidity. I also wasn't saying my sun was equal in intensity to yours, just that we get plenty of full sun every day for 9ish months out of the year here. Your UV index is roughly 8, mine is 6. A bit closer than I would have thought.

I use the Garry Dean wash method with ONR and distilled water from Publix, 69 cents a gallon, two gallons. The water is too hard to wash black paint. Also I wash it at twilight to increase drying time.
