I was wondering what mobile detailers are charging for a basic wash and what all does it include also what all packages and servies do you provide for customers and the pricing for such services . Carpet cleaning , waxes and full details and so on . Tring to find the averge prices for these services so i can make money detailing . Thank you

I have a customer in Roanoke that I service semi-annually.

Your best approach is to look up Roanoke Valley detailer websites to get an idea of what the market will bear. You ought to be able to find their websites by perusing craigslist ads.

automotive detailing

Call and ask for website.

I currently charge 15 for a car and 20 for a van truck suv . This is for a basic wash includes wash, drying, vaccum, windows, dusting dash , air fresheners, and tire shine . I am thinking of uping the prices and the reason they are this price now is cuase i bought the bussiness and these were the prices . As far as details i try to estimate them on how much time well be spent

I'm certainly not an expert on pricing but that sounds way too low.

Haha that cl add i contacted it earlier today and was asking questions like i was a customer and they wanted 30 for a car and 50 for a suv but this was just the inside witch included just vaccuming windows and cleaning the vents and cup holders . They said they donot was the out side of the vehical .

If you go to my facebook page (link below) and click on the about section, you'll be able to see the packages I offer, the cost, and whats covered in each package.

I don't actually do car washes right now, but my basic detail only takes about 1-2 hours for a car and that is what I consider an express detail. I have nothing against car washing, but it just seems like not much profit for a lot of traveling at times.

I do everything from basic washes to full detailes . Just started my own business 5 months ago . So i haven't got my pricing all the way down yet. I have 14 yrs experience and still learning and kinda think that people should pay for the experience and professional service i am giving .

^^^ I agree.

Wash
Jambs
Clay
Wipe down interior/windows
Vac
One step - OPS

Upcharge with OOS - no charge if maint.

3.5 ave. - 5 hours tops...sedan $129.99

2500 HD crew cab near Tanglewood Mall...relocated from Vegas.
Two bills for full detail. Never more than a polish, seal , and wax of her choice (email 2 weeks prior) and minor dog hair and dander. Long time friend.

Upsell and maintenance is key.

The one that comes to my office park every week charges $20 for regular cars & $25 for trucks/SUV's, etc. They do a hand wash, clean wheels, dress tires, clean windows, vacuum interior & dust interior surfaces.

They do a really good job for the price, considering it's about the same price as the regular businesses, who do an utterly crappy job.

So to be competitive, a good price range for a similar service should be $20 on the low side & $30 on the higher side.

That's what i was thinking . About 20 to 30 dollers for a basic wash and then up sell if possible and make a variety of packages like ones with express waxes and hand waxes and so on .

I would do some research for your area. Pricing varies drastically depending upon your experience, the market your in, and your quality of work.

Call around to local detail shops and mobile detailers. Look at websites, etc.

This will give you a decent idea of at least where to start with your pricing. You don't want to be the lowest and you don't want to be the highest. Some where in the middle will be perfect.

Im off today due to rain here in salem va so i believe ill do some research . Ill let you guys know what i come up with . Thanks everyone .

I charge $20 an hour. I have a friend that brings me dirty cars that have been 8, 10, 15, and 17 hours to:
wash, clay, correct, wax, seal, vacuum, tires, wheels, etc.
I use a porter cable 7424.
If the prices gets too high, I'll cut them a deal.

Detail shops in my area (The Last Detail, Final Touch) for full details charge anywhere from $225-$350.

You can look at my site for base estimates
Finished Detailing

I look to get $40/hr. I use a 2012 Ford Transit.

Try not to compare yourself TOO much to "Car Wash". People typically understand that a Detail will be more thurough, and if you're mobile, then they are paying for convenience.

I just started detailing as a business about a year ago so I'm still figuring out my pricing. I am one of the few detailers in my area and the only mobile one I know of. So my prices are a little higher than others but I'm Mobil so customers don't mind paying it.
