What are the best shoes for detailing

I would love the hear other people's opinion on shoes to wear while working.

I buy new tennis shoes about every six weeks. Always changing brands trying to find something that will last a little longer, but provide the most comfort for standing 8-10 hours polishing.

I like "water shoes" Like speedos. Then excess water/soap/chems flow through.

Either Sam's or Costco has em right now for about $20.00
 
For standing-up to 8-10 hours of polishing...

Red Wing work boots, high or low tops:
very long lasting; and, comfortable!! :dblthumb2:

The idea of chemicals flowing through your shoes reminds me of the thread where someone was using Meg's Wheel Bright with bare feet. I'll take waterproof shoes, but I think the OP was talking less about water than support for standing all day, but I'll let him address that.

I missed the part about "comfort".

Oh well, maybe time to go back for 2nd lesson for me.
 
I got me some Timberlands boots and I am in them from 5:30 a.m. til atleast 6:30 p.m. Even on the weekends when I leave the house I still put these boots on instead of my gym shoes
 
I use the LL Bean boots for washing in cold weather, crocs in warm weather. Once I start doing "dry" work I change to either Keens or Alegrias. I prefer boots, I have bad ankles from too many years playing basketball.
 
Crocs are nice and soft. They made slip resistant versions (for restaurants) which don't have all the holes in them.

Or just don't get your shoes wet.
I wear some reebok trainers I got at sears with the memory foam insole
But every six weeks you go through tennis shoes?
What kind of tennis shoes are you buying

They are designed for the restaurant industry and are very durable. They also have slip resistant soles that can be useful on certain types of surfaces. I have had my pair of sneekers from them for about a year now, and they still feel and look like new. Normally I have to replace my sneekers at least once a year, sometimes more if I get bad ones.
 
Rockport walking shoes.

And I hit them hard with Scotchgard to repel water.
 
I use wolverine work boots from Sears, they are waterproof and imo very comfortable.

I like a good pair of hiking shoes, they provide great support and cushion.
 
Billy B, how do you like those "toe finger" shoes. I'll admit to being somewhat intrigued by them recently and thought about them for detailing. My only concern would be how my feet hold up after about 8-10 hours.
 
Im so used to wearing steel toe boots during the week I wear them on the weekends while I detail... I have replaced the insoles with Spenco inserts
