What are the best shoes for detailing

For hot climates Crocs work fantastic! The holes allow you to spray your feet to cool them off, and they don't hold the water like fabric shoes.

When I used to wash "lot cars" when I was younger I would wear rubber boots when strictly washing, then slip those off and switch to comfortable shoes for the rest of my detailing.

PITA but I can't stand wet feet. Especially when in sub freezing temps. The 1-2 mins of switching footwear is worth it in my opinion.

I wash cars at work all day and I have shoe for crew work boots. There slip resistance, waterproof, and light with the composite toe. Been using them for 2 years and their still good.

Billy B, how do you like those "toe finger" shoes. I'll admit to being somewhat intrigued by them recently and thought about them for detailing. My only concern would be how my feet hold up after about 8-10 hours.

I love them. I have a couple pairs. When washing I wear no socks because of the water. But when wearing them out and about, I have Fila Skeletoes socks that I wear to absorb the sweating. I wear non visible socks with my Sperry's too. I hate going sock less unless I'm getting my feet wet.

That's good to hear. I am looking for the perfect detailing footwear and will give those a try. I'm looking for a good, light shoe that can get wet but feel comfortable after a full day's work. I'm also looking to go sockless while working too.

Thanks for your insight.

Since I always worked in my own garage no shoes were involved. Barefoot was the way of the time. I did that for more than ten years in one location and additional years in another. To this day I wear shoes only when I have no choice. I'm soon to be 67 and still dislike shoes.

anything thats comfortable man. i even have wash shoes and dry shoes.
