What Are These White Grainny Things

Ok, then we are in the same boat.....

I used megs cuttingpad/polishpad and MG83 with no improvment on those dots (i also clayed)

I dont have a clue, but it may be either overspray, or pores that is dry as he##

Anyway, the guys got their pics and may got the answer.

If you put a baggie over your hand and then draw your hand over the surface, palm down, can you feel anything with your fingertips, or is it glass smooth?

I don't get the baggie thing. I've heard that a lot before to tell if your car needs claying. It seems to me that if you put a baggie over your fingers, it will desensitize them and be HARDER to feel the contamination. Could someone please explain? Thanks.

Can't explain, but it is true. I thought the same as you until I tried it. All I can figure is that the layer of plastic eliminates some of the sensory input through your fingertips and lets you just feel the tiny tiny bonded contaminants.

I can only suggest that you try it on a car that needs claying. You can feel with your fingers, and then try the bag--it will be heightened. And on some where you can't feel with your fingers, you will feel the bumps with your baggie. But if the surface is smooth, of course, you won't feel anything either way.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure it is because the plastic of the bag will only catch on ANYTHING that is protruding from the paint, and not the paint itself. So you only feel the contaminants through the bag, and not the paint itself as you normally would.
