What are they thinking?

I respect your opinion, Dave. (I have also read the term iBrid a lot. Correct or not).

I have never tried any CG products. This is because of mixed reviews. A minority seems to like, and the majority does not seem to like.

Enough for me to move on to the next product line.

Make sense?

Definitely. There are so many to choose from. Usually if you go with the ones with overwhelming positive feedback your pretty safe.

Ibrid not ibird. It’s because it “BRIDges the gap between corded and cordless tools. They will probably do Ibrid technology in their bigger tools soon.

I'm sure they will. I really like the new battery Flex long throw XFE7-150 or what're the letters and numbers are. I was really concerned about the power but it's doing great. It is really nice not having to worry about cords.

I'm simple. Just do my truck and wife's Wrangler.

Griot's, McKee's, and HD. I need no further influences at this point. (Although The Guz is getting under my skin as we speak about this "coating" stuff. Itch itch........ )

Interesting. Guess you need to let AG know they should call it a Bigfoot Nano ibird in their descriptions. I've seen it called an ibird on here at least a couple hundred times. A few of those by Rupes employees. So if that is indeed the technical name surely you can see my confusion...

Add poorboys to this list and we are the same. 3d is probably my favorite though.

@DaveT435. Very cool of you to take our comments in stride... I’m sure none of us meant anything personal towards you and it’s good to see you didn’t take it as such.

Ok now it makes sense LOL. I was wondering why they would call a product iBird :)

Ya, the Nano. Something I was not interested in at the price they sell for. I just received my 2 inch backing plate from Autogeek today. Will be converting my Griot's Garage 3" polisher into a 2" polisher. Hope it will be useful ;)

I always liked their pad cleaner.

Is that right? I always thought it was a play on the word "hybrid" and an homage to "iPhone" and "iPad" etc. If they wanted to emphasize "bridge" why wouldn't it be an "ibridg" or "ibridge"? I never thought it bridged any gap, I thought it was a hybrid of a cordless and corded tool that could be used either way, or a hybrid between a rotary and oscillating tool, that could be used either way, or both.

I guess we'll see what the next Ibrid tool looks like unless someone from Rupes clears this up first...of course really it's not important.

You like All pads. Lol.

All pads are good ;) I really doubt a pad can be bad. As long as you use the right foam density, I would be surprised if there was major differences from one brand to an other in a comparisson test.

But there are differences in durability and cutting ability.

Durability, maybe. For cutting ability, if you compare two pads of the same type (say orange polishing vs orange polishing) the differences should be minimal. I have tried many foam cutting pads and I have never seen a big gap between them. I see a big gap when I go from foam cutting to microfiber cutting but even super thin pads like the ThinPro series are no match for microfiber. So far I have used many type from Buff&Shine flat pads to Lake Country HDO and ThinPros and HEX Logic as well as Meguiars. They all worked ok.

For me, failure was always at the velco interface. I think that many of the pads I have been using were incompatible with my backing plates. I wish there was a chart showing what pad types work with what backing plates. On the Rupes 5 inch backing plates for exemple, B&S pads quickly loose their grip. After a few panels the pads will fly off the backing plate if not in contact with the car. Same for Meguiars cutting disks. I have gone through a lot of them for that reason.

Now that I have switched to other polishers, I have not noticed any issues like this anymore. So hopefully the interface is more compatible with the Griot's Garage backing plate.

I had a similar store open up near me a few months ago, I thought awesome a local store for detailing supplies. I went to the grand opening, waited in the long line to get in, and once in I noticed it was just a Chemical Guys store ... walked right back out.

:laughing::laughing::laughing:

I have always pictured Dan having one of those big pits that are usually filled with the different colored plastic balls that you dive into.

Only his is filled with pads! :buffing:

I wonder if I could talk her into it?
