It's been a while for the BBQ so the 3 of us went to Real Urban BBQ in Oakbrook ILL for lunch today. Pulled pork sandwich w/Texas sauce, sweet potato mash and those famous hot pickles. What's not pictured are my 3 hush puppies, those are cooked to order. Washed it down with Lemon shake up and unsweetened ice tea. I know those down south might think we don't know BBQ N of the Mason Dixen line but trust me....GOOD EATIN'

Got home and got after the wife's ride, look in "what did you detail related today" thread

A few things I enjoyed while on vacation:

And my favorite, the 26oz margarita I had:

$70.00 for a drink, WOW! As someone who doesn't drink I can't get my head around this

Oh. my. God...first of all, pulled pork and Texas should never, never be used in the same sentence..evaaaa!

A proper Texas BBQ is, smoked brisket/chicken/sausage (your choice or just do all three), tater salad(potato salad), beans, slice of white bread, and a cold beer (or may be substituted with SWEET tea)!

I love hush puppies, but with BBQ? I'll give you a pass on that one, but not pulled pork and Texas in the same sentence!

I think I'll get some BBQ this week and take a picture show you proper BBQ!

Jay

I'm a native Houstonian (very rare now days) , I hate...hate the cowgirls! I'm curious what the Texas sauce was though.

We went to Nashville 20 years ago for a wedding, the brides parents held a "Texas BBQ" at their house...they served pulled pork w/sauce, all of us that we're from Texas (90%) we wondering what the heck we were eating, haven't had it since!

All good!
Different strokes for different folks!
