What are you working on today?

You think, with it being a 2008, the body shop will reclear? And then I have to wait 60 days or so before waxing, correct?

Mike,

In looking closely at the photos you might want to have someone else tackle that job or we may never see or hear from you again!!

Good Luck Obi-Wan Kenobi :urtheman:

Sorry Kyle, that sucks buddy!

Today, just like yesterday and the day before, we are tending to our 8yr old cat. He just had a leg amputated due to cancer. It's a chore let me tell you. But hopefully later I can get away and test drive a new Camaro SS, a new Grand Sport Vette, and a Z06 that are sitting at a Chevy lot about 2 miles from my house. Stopped and looked at them last night, and yes all 3 are black! The wife is supposed to be car shopping but I want a toy...

I would start out by putting Aquapel on the back glass. Just a suggestion.

So that's what $14,000 worth of damage looks like. Holy Cow!

Sorry that happened to you.

Tim

Working on my wife's '03 New Beetle GLX. First, clean, sand, prime, paint, clear and compound the replacement grille. Then, clay, compound, polish and seal the front bumper trying to improve the looks from its current rock pelted, bug splattered state.

Finally, install the 3 grille pieces with new fog light assemblies.

I used Invisible Glass instead. Hehe.

I spent 5 hours cleaning my interior today. AG has really made my eyes focus in on dirt, I never thought this car was that dirty. Spent most of the time just cleaning all the little nooks and crannys. I have never cleaned pedals in my life but I did today. After cleaning I wiped everything with 303AP, let dry good then buffed with a clean MF and got this nice satin finish. I think it looks really good.

Here's the time stamp for the update to this thread with after pictures...

Took a short lunch break and a second break to run over to Robert's "Impressions Detailing" to pick up my spare, which is the slotted mag Oley and I polished out with a 35" Bogger on it...

After taking the after shots below, uploading the pictures and updating this thread it is now...

And here are the results after about 5 hours of work...

First a reminder as to how the backs of the wheels looked before starting. You can see the Flitz Aluminum Pre-Clean soaking in and going to work.

Ready for tires...

Very nice. They cleaned up and polished well. After I finished with the garage I washed both of my trucks. A good day, but just not enough time.

I 2 bucket washed my wife's TBSS in our version of Florida weather, 90 degrees and 72 dewpoint = 99 heat index. (I just checked and Stuart, Florida has 75 dewpoint.) I quit for the night when the mosquitoes attempted to carry my sweaty carcass away. First thing tomorrow AM I'll hit the tires and trim, maybe give it a quick wax.

Wow Mike, that is a very nice turn around. They look great.

Today, installed a new kitchen sink faucet, hung a ceiling fan.(wife's day)
Tomorrow, pulling the bumper off the 8 and installing OEM fog lights.(my day)

Mike, I have to say those look great and it's hard to tell they're the same set of wheels, I thought we lost you to them.....

Fabulous work!! :props:

Been meaning to give my SS a good going over with the rotary then start layering some carnauba. But after doing other cars all week then trying to keep the wife and little one amused on the weekend, there is never enough time!

I did manage to get one front quarter wet sanded, polished and waxed. Would be nice to get the rest of the car done. Oh well, maybe next weekend! Here's a teaser! And nice job on those wheels!
