What are your go to products for Drying aides

Hi All,

I just finished my supply of drying aides. Ive been using Amplify, beadmaker and glassparency boost. I am out of beadmaker and amplify, and I prefer the boost as a standalone product. Both of my cars are white, so something that adds pop would be great. Ive tried dream maker, but found it makes my car collect dust. I like amplify but it doesnt seem to give that POP I am hoping for. What are your suggestions?

Some things I am considering:

Adams Graphene detailer
Adams H20 Guard and Gloss
BC3
KCX quick detailer (if they even have something for this )
 
Try the Adam’s Slick N Slide. I like it better than there QD’s. Same product as Obsessed garage’s Drying aid but adds smell and color.

Koch Chemie FSE doesn’t feel as nice but I don’t need it to be super slick. Benefit is that it has lime scale removing properties so great if you have hard water.

Ammo Hydrate still my favorite if you are not blow drying 1st.

I don't use a drying aid, but if I'm going to do a post-wash wipe down to remove any random water spots or feel like adding a little something to the surface, my favorites are Amplify or ECH2O (mixed to QD ratio).

Walmart and Autozone both carry Adam's products and have quite a few items in stock but neither carry the Slick N Slide, at least in my area

I was actually considering this, but the bottle expressly says slick and Slide was not designed as a drying aide and to use H20 guard and gloss instead. How has your experience been using it as a drying aid?

Yeah, one reason I keep going back to either Meg’s Ceramic Quick Detailer or your suggested mix of a couple of ounces of Griot’s Ceramic 3 in 1 Wax added to a bottle of Griot’s Ceramic Speed Shine

Both work well and are readily available and affordable

McKee's 37 SiO2 Rinseless Wash mixed at QD dilution.

Gives me Gloss and Slickness while being a dedicated cleaning product so I know it is good for using as a QD.

Dilute 1/2 oz. for every 22 oz. of water

I do have a LOT of KCX wash and finish. Wonder if that would work as a drying aid? I got it half off and have a gallon.

Ill give the slick and slide a try, though it doesnt feel as slick as some of the other products.

100% still interested in more suggestions.
 
My go to is Labocosmetica Perfecta 2.0. It is crazy good for everything except it doesn't add a ton of gloss. I can usually go 3 or 4 weeks between car washes since it repels dust and a good rain essentially washes the car.

Adams bottles still say don not use as a drying aid. But if you go to their website it states other wise! they need to update their labels!

If I want something that's super easy to work with & boosts beading -> Sonax Ceramic Ultra Slick Detailer/Meguiar's Hybrid Ceramic QD

If I want something with a bit more lubricity & cleaning power -> Griot's Speed Shine

If I want something that boosts gloss to the max & don't mind a bit more of a difficult buff -> Adam's Slick & Slide

Bonus: If you can hunt it down, Sonax Hypercoat. It's a concentrate with a 1:100-200 dilution ratio & can be used as both a spray-and-rinse sealant and a drying aid. It beads phenomenally well, is super slick, and gives a nice gloss.

Ill give it a go!

I used it in a few spots on my GTI before I did the decon wash and polish, and I was very impressed by how the water beading held up to 2 decon washes, Iron remover and a synthetic clay.

Was about to post the same thing. Originally, the label and website said don't use as a drying aid, but I guess with competitors selling the same product as a drying aid forced their hand. I've used Slick & Slide, as well as the OG and Ethos versions as a drying aid for years without a problem.

I’ve covered the drying aid topic a few times, but as always, new products come, and old products go. And while its always exciting when a new product arrives and impresses, its also nice to return to old favorites.

In basic terms, a drying aid is providing lubrication between the paint and your towel. The byproduct of using a drying aid is increased gloss, slickness and protection. When selecting a drying aid, I’m naturally aiming for that gloss and slickness improvement, but I also want something that feels lubricated and doesn’t require 15 towels to...

Of all of those, my current favorites/most used are -

- ADS Amplify (the easiest to use)
- ADS Adapt (this is sold as a waterless wash but it makes a brilliant drying aid too)
- Megs Hybrid Ceramic Detailer (great on white paint)
- OG Drying Aid (again, great on white)

To make white POP, I've found polymer and wax based products produce the look you are going for, the Si02/ceramic alternatives are too stark. In that I mean products like OG Drying Aid/Adams Slick & Slide, Carpro ECH20. Another you could look at would be the latest version of Optimum Car Wax, which has been revised to work with ceramic coatings.

Poorboy's World Spray and Gloss
Adam's Slick and Slide
Turtle Wax Hybrid Solutions Ceramic wet wax
