What are your tips for applying Rain-X ?

What are your tricks or preferred method of applying Rain-X? Seems like sometimes it works great for me and other times not so much.

Best way to apply is slowly, carefully dump in garbage can, Then go purchase Aquapel, you won't regret it...

After the Rain-X hazes over, you can either spray it with water from a hose or spray bottle. This should make the windshield become totally clear, and then just dry it with your drying towel. No buffing needed. I have used both Rain-X and Aquapel, and I like both of them.
