Leave it to you, Nick!
I can get a bra at Victoria's Secret, but theyjust won't fit my vette...lol

Rent a car. no way. u haul? not fo this kinda trip. I just think you couldnt miss the bra joke.
Want me to send you a catalog?

LOL Hee hee

Are you in it? If so, can you autograph mine please? I'll pay for over-night shipping as well.. :p

Yea, If your really worried about something happening to it take another car. Remember to that something could happen to it just going around the block. What ever you do, if you take it don't drive the speed limit. If you want to drive the speed limit trade your Vette in for something with a small 4 cylinder. Take it, be careful, go fast (watch of for cops), have fun and don't worry about it. It's hard to keep a car perfect unless you never drive it but what fun is that.

know that Joe, said distance in another reply:o

Distance, bra or painers tape prevents chips, but how is it with tape in the sun? not sticky after a day in hot sun?

And the bra can work its way trough your clear/paint pretty fast if not fasten good enough. Getting some sand or a small stones under there can make it lot worse than driving without. Had a pick up with a bed(?) cover, that worked its way through the paint in just some short days. Had to put tape under the straps, and when i was about to remove those, i had to use citrus cleaner to get the glue off.

So Distance and a wax/sealer or the stuff Al recomended would be my choice

The painter's tape won't ruin your car. There is a reason why a lot of people use it when DETAILING. Comes right off and the residue can be removed easily (usually there is none). It works great and a lot of BMW people do it too. I see it at autox events on the new ones. :)

Good enough for Ferrari = good enough for me.

Lauren, I agree with abrcrombe. You should tape up your whole car with painters tape before you go. ;) Don't forget to take pictures.

or
would you rather have rock ships in your paint!

I think the choice is clear... GO TAPE!

The "clear bra" system is nothing new, in fact it has been on the market for quite sometime. Protective films have become very popular, in fact many dealers are offering it as an option. Ferrari and a few other manufacturers have also started applying it before customers take delivery. The fact is, paint and body work are expensive. Random touch ups and dent removal can cost nearly $100-200 per panel in some areas. The average enthusiast is still yet unaware of how far these clear bra systems have come or that they exist. This is why this article is here, to educate and help the car lover to, enjoy driving without fear of the annoying chips and nics from daily driving.

i hear ya!;)

want help with the bugs ... two items. One wax/seal just before going. It helps. Second is to take wd-40 and wipe the entire front end down. I know it sounds crazy .. but it doesnt dry and slick enough to stop most bugs. Clean it once you stop, and reapply as needed. I do it on rental cars religiously !!!!

Scott, WD-40 list that on there web site,so it dosen't crazy to me..Lauren will have a hard time keeping her Bra attatched :p

Lauren, just take that puppy a crank it up. You have done all the work on it to be seen. Let them see it as you go by!:D
The key to no rock chips is do not stay behind anyone. Its not like the rocks jump out in front of you. To hit your front somebody has to put them up in the air.
As for bugs, this is California and Arizona we are talking about. There are no bugs in the desert. They need standing water to breed.
Vamenous, baby

Life is too short....enjoy the vette and enjoy cleaning it after you use it.

I would seal/wax, then every time you stop while driving (gas station or break), use QD with MF towels to clean front end. Works for me.

and are you crazy? drive 6 hours without her vette?! haha

anyways painters tape would be the best protector for chips and such but a fresh coat of wax to keep them from eating in is the next best thing since a bra would just be rediculously priced.

you dont have to go crazy with the tape though if your going to do it, just the lower lip and the front bumper, maybe the mirrors if you feel they are in jeapordy...those are the hardest hit areas

define ridiculously priced? if it means no rick chips and no red sharpie .....
loved that one,btw.
and a car covered in painter's tape, holy crap that is comedy.
joe, do you need an extra bra of mine, since you know I drive topless?
lol
no topless here - it would probably rain in me!AAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

where can i get a bra for the vette in addition? any idea?

#16 x3 on the front end, nothing you can do about rocks and the like. Hell when i moved from south Fl to SC a trucks tires lifted and flung a side marker light at me. Left a nice deep scratch down to the metal. Do I care? Nope not the trucks fault and I'm replacing the hood any way. Just take from Spray and Wipe and plenty of mf towels so at each stop wipe them off.
