I need something as a LSP after Megs#80. I have never tried Zaino and am really thinking of giving Z5 a try. But when I called them of course they try and push more products on me. The guy said I have to use Zaino AIO before Z5 cuz its helps it adhere. What do you guys think? Or is there something else you can recommend?

With any of the zaino products it is highly recommend to use the ZAIO as a pre-cleaner to chemically strip the paint and lay down a base for either Z2 or Z5. But to answer your original question you could top with any wax that you want but if you want to use a sealant you need to wipe down the paint with IPA to remove the polishing oils in M80(m80 is very oily.) I think a really good entry-level wax is Poorboys Natty Blue and Red. Looks, ease of use and removal are all top notch and on par with the higher end waxes.

I use Megs 80 also..
DG 105 and 601 combo, then some favorite wax!

Zaino recommends a clean, oil free surface before applying any of their sealants for maximum performance out of their products.

I know people have applied the sealants onto paint after polishing without stripping the finish to a clean base and enjoyed the results. I don't know how long or how well the results lasted as I don't have time to monitor every person's detailing project just passing on what I've read.

Usually best results from any product come from following the manufacture's recommendations.

:)

ok well I think im going to give poorboys natty blue a shot. The car im using it on is an 07 IS250. The previous owner didnt really keep up on the waxing of the car. It has some swirls and fine scratches. So im just going to use megs #80 which is like a cleaner/polish. That should also help hiding or correcting some of the scratches and swirls. I read the natty blue also has some swirl/scratch hiding capabilities as well. It also said its excellant for dark color cars.

wait so I can use the natty blue right on top of #80 without having to wipe it down with IPA right?

Yes. That will be perfectly fine. Waxes dont have a problem with oily polishes as waxes dont actually bond or crosslink on to the paint.

Compared to Nxt 2.0 will Natty blue last any longer or provide a better appearance? Because if not I might as well just stick with NXT

It looks a little more wetter but it wont last longer than NXT 2.0. The nattys waxes are more or less beauty waxes like souveran. They look really good but have poor durability, about a month or so. If your not looking to wax frequently then stick to NXT 2.0. NXT is a good wax and I still come back to it every now and then.

Ive been reading up on #80 and alot of people are topping it with a carnuba. But Ive seen on Meguiars website they also recommend NXT 2.0 over it as well. I havent used a carnauba in years. I wisn there wasnt so many products to try, lol
