I'm new to rotary polishing and want to try something different and see what all the hype is about.

As of now I'm using:
Flex PE 14-2 150
6.5", 5", 4" & 3" foam pads
I have a couple wool pads that I tried but focusing more on the foam pads for right now.

For compound and polish I'm using Megs Ultimate Compound and Ultimate Polish And have been able to get great results.

What's the advance of switching brands?

I went from ultimate compound to m105. Pretty great feeling.haha Cuts a lot faster so I don't have to sit at one spot for too long and it finishes good too. I've used it with a white foam polishing pad to finish as well. 👌👍

Thanks For the input. I thought about that, too. I was even thinking about Menzerna Finish Polish PO85RD but it's costly.

Can anyone else chime in here...

If you like the Ultimate Compound then maybe the Megs M101 is worth considering. It can be as aggressive as you want but can finish down really well, as for a finishing polish then perhaps the obvious product is 205.

However, if you want to try another brand I can recommend the Optimum polishes. Really nice to work with, no dusting and can be wiped away with a damp cloth. However, there is always lot of alternatives from Scholl, Menzerna etc, all will do a good job

Meguiar's Ultimate Compound/Ultimate Polish is only for DA use with machines like the G110v2 and the like.

If you are going to do a lot of polishing with the PE14 I suggest Menzerna or Wolfgang. Also these polishes are DAT based and behave differently than Meguiar's SMAT based products.

HD Cut is a nice, less expensive alternative. Otherwise, FG400 is an excellent choice.

I have been doing a lot of dwelling on the Menzerna sf 4500 and the Carpro Reflect. I am also debating th purchase of a Flex 3401 to make my job a little easier but would like to stay away from the big purchases at the moment, so if I can use the PE 14 what product, and or products and pad recommendation Do you have.

BTW. Thanks for the quick replies guys!

I have a free sample from AGO that I'm going to try, but I'm more curious as to a finishing polish and to get the most out of my paint.

This is what I have. What do you think?

But, at the same time I've heard nothing but good things about Menzerna sf 4500 and even better on the Carpro Reflect. Some people say the Reflect has a mild learning curve, though.

Any thoughts on this. ...

Thanks Dave! That just confuses me even more. Lol

Used Shine Supply Classic cut and classy polish with success. Also love Carpro reflect. Do want no try some non diminishing abrasive polishes though

Are you saying to stick with non diminishing abrasives, or not? Sorry, I didn't fully understand

No not at all had great experiences with DA compounds and polishes! Just wanna try the other end of the spectrum

I will have to give it a go and see. I will update you with the outcome.

Ps: I still want to try carpro reflect because of all the good reviews.

Why can all of this be so simple?
