what did everyone think of Obama's speech?

Didn't watch it - I Don't trust the man, period.

The mess in this country started long ago, and politicians from both parties contributed to it. To straighten it out, we need to stop politics and get back to representation.
1. Term limits
2. Make congress live under the same rules they make for the rest of us. (retirement, health care, pollution stds, etc.).
3. Follow the Constitution.
4. Take the media off the ratings standards. What is reported should be the news, period.

I found the olives in my martini more exciting than the speech. Hell, I have more faith in those olives than POTUS right now. My olives did not just raise my health insurance up by 42%!

All that while we seat and wait for 7-9 years (If I remember correctly) to see if it will work as they hope it will (their words)...

While I know that there are many people that can and should use this help, I just think that they are making things way too easy for those that don't want to work... "can't find a job" that is ok, we will give you money for an extra year and since you can't get heath insurance you don't have to worry about that ether... While you see people in the projects seat at home all day watching Jerry Springer and jump in their cadilacs to go and buy something at the store to kill the munchies while paying with food stamps... But that is ok because people that are responsible and work to pay for its own bills and taxes are paying for all of that...

I'm going to wax my truck. Those that want can break out their buffers and correct the world. Hope you have a trillion pads!

A debate will never be won while discussing the following subjects: Religion, Sex and Politics.

The only words I want to hear from the guy are "I quit.".

Ahhh, why did you guys get me jabbering about this. I don't worry about this stuff. We are all blessed and should be greatful for the lives we have. Do the best you can with what you have control over. Leave the rest up to God.

:iagree: This, I can agree with! :iagree:

i hate partisan nonsense. i don't care what party someone is from, if they are not fit for the job, they are not fit for the job. George Bush - agendas. Obama - agendas. it doesn't matter. i feel they are both brilliant in their own way, but both are inept when it comes to truly making a positive difference.

the lone candidate in the past several elections who i genuinely trust has been Ron Paul. i feel like he cares about nothing more than fixing the problems. i think the "tea party" movement is tainted with some pretty silly kooks, but my hope is that if that movement somehow takes a foothold, the majority of them won't be "extreme republicans", per se, but people who understand that if the people who founded this country saw what we are doing right now, they would think they were tripping and be running to the trough to splash themselves silly.

if i could have Ron and Rand running this show, i'd be completely confident in the direction we could take.

anyway,

Its really a shame that they made Ron Paul look like they did. The republicans did it but the democrats would have done even worse if Ron Paul had made it that far. Media sucks too. It just shows you our culture. Our culture cares about image and not substance. Therefore we get a president that sounds and looks cool to people instead of one with substance and brain. Puppet vs. Leader I think tv and media has a lot to do with this. Similar to "Video killed the radio star"

Both parties work together to create the same big picture while playing us all like fools.

FYI: John Mcain was not a party line guy like the rest of these politicians. Unfortunately he was 8 years past his prime.

Also, proof of the media bias: John Mcain was their darling until he finally won the republican nomination. Then they hated him. Even after he lost they have continued trying to destroy an honorable man.

politics and wax. two of the most emotional subjects people can discuss! lol

I think the speech would have been over in a half hour if they saved all of the clapping and standing ovations until the end.

I say the AG team makes a run at politics....
-Great customer service and support (listening to the people)
-Awesome issue resolution (no more wars)
-Fair pricing on all products (economy turn around)
-Great smelling waxes (I don't know...I just like it)
-Ever expanding knowledge base (not hiding any secrets...except for some sought after Meguiars system (hint hint) :))
-A common place for all to gather and share (not drowning out the little guys)
-Trying new ideas and products (the need to adapt to ever expanding technology)

IS ANYONE ELSE THINKING THE WAY I AM?!?!?!?!?!?!!?!?!?!

I watched recorded 2 hours of "Bachelor" instead. (Yes -- it's that bad.)

regardless of your politics... you gotta hate that incessant clapping.

Ya know, this would have made a great poll!

Something similar to this, then we could gage the responses....

  • Walks on water
  • Confident
  • Pretty good
  • OK
  • Less than OK
  • Nervous
  • Car Salesman / Politician
