I expected to loose more faith in humanity when looking in this thread, and I did find some of the expected partisan crap; but I also found some glimmers of wisdom.

Our government has not been representing the best interest of the people for a long time and it is getting worse. Corporations are people now, and have no contribution limits, and they are going to drown the individuals for their own benefit. The worst part is a lot of people are so caught up in the partisan angle they fail to realize this.

We, the individuals, need to find some way to remind our representatives on both sides of the isle that they work for us and not special interests. We also need to establish a sense of unity that we all stand together, and that having different viewpoints is a healthy and integral part of a functioning society; however, we also have to have these discussions in a civil and productive manner. No one should frame their opponents as 'destroyers of everything American'. We are all working to better America even if we have different ideas on how to accomplish it, and we need to work together with open and truthful conversations that do not disintegrate into slander, lies, misrepresentation, or otherwise mean spirited and hateful tactics.

I am pretty fed up with politics in general in this country. When I write letters to my representatives on issues that are important to me they basically send polite 'go-to-hell' responses since I have no lobbying power as an individual.

-Great customer service and support (listening to the people)
-Awesome issue resolution (no more wars)
-Fair pricing on all products (economy turn around)
-Great smelling waxes (I don't know...I just like it)
-Ever expanding knowledge base (not hiding any secrets...except for some sought after Meguiars system (hint hint) )
-A common place for all to gather and share (not drowning out the little guys)
-Trying new ideas and products (the need to adapt to ever expanding technology)

I saw a few minutes but did not think much new would be stated.

The problem with the Federal budget is if you ended all discretionary spending but leave entitlements/defense spending in place plus interest on the debt you will would still have trouble balancing the budget.

I suspect that people will vote the people out when they see what gets cut. There are no easy fixes.

I didn't vote for him the first time and never would. A lot of people voted for him thinking they were somehow more sophisticated for voting for someone that knew how to bs and speak better than the previous prez.

Please find below my suggestion for fixing America 's economy. Instead of giving billions of dollars to companies that will squander the money on lavish parties and unearned bonuses, use the following plan. You can call it the "Patriotic Retirement Plan":


There are about 40 million people over 50 in the work force. Pay them $1 million apiece severance for early retirement with the following stipulations:

1) They MUST retire. Forty million job openings - Unemployment fixed.

2) They MUST buy a new American CAR. Forty million cars ordered - Auto Industry fixed.

3) They MUST either buy a house or pay off their mortgage - Housing Crisis fixed.

It can't get any easier than that!!

P.S. If more money is needed, have all members in Congress pay their taxes...

Mr. President, while you're at it, make Congress retire on Social Security and Medicare. I'll bet both programs would be fixed pronto!

Neither you and I, nor our country, can spend our way out of debt. We all know this but it appears that Obama and his admin don't seem to grasp that fact yet.

You and I can't spend money we don't have and stay afloat for long. The same is true of our country. When you and I are short on cash we slow our spending because it is the reasonable and logical thing to do. Time for us as a country to swallow some bad tasting medicine.

What are we doing to our children and grandchildren? Think about what their life will be like when this house of cards collapses. It's like we are all going out and buying new Lamborghinis and sending the bill to our kids.

It's going to take responsible, albeit painful, action to get us out of this in a way that our economy doesn't totally collapse or stagnate for years. We have not seen that from either party to date.

ALL OF YOU ARE 100% CORRECT! I am an active member in The American Constitution Party and THIRD PARTY VOTES as everyone says are NOT WASTED they are the real votes! Voting by party lines is A TRUE WASTE of your vote!

The Dem's and Pub's are all puppets and that is what they have been for years! If you choose to have big companies and terrorists make your decisions for you then go right ahead and vote party lines! My betterhalf has been out of work due to maternity leave for the past 6 weeks and we have been struggling.... what did I do - worked harder! Impose much STRICTER immigration laws and ACTUALLY ENFORCE THEM! DEPORT those on our welfare system that are NOT CITIZENS!!!!

Cut those off that have been on welfare for longer than 5 years cause if they cant get on their own feet in that time they need to be forced to!

Allow people to work that can and give those that have ACTUALLY worked and are past say 60 a break!

DISPOSE of the Health Care Bill and work it at a different angle!

Mothers that have multiple ILLEGITIMATE children from multiple fathers need to be cut from welfare... They chose to get knocked up while having "fun"... They had a choice to give the child up for adoption also to a family that isn't fortunate enough to have children and because they have chosen not to they chose to live off of yours and my hard earned money!

I know this may sound like a bitter post but honestly it isn't bitter it is truthful! and if you don't see it as truthful then you have been blinded by GOVERNMENT! Obama won't do anything about the illegals or other immigrant problems because that's who he gets his votes from. At the last election my dad always said vote early vote often because some of the illegals were voting two or three times at least with different names of people that were dead.
