Good towel dry technique:
1) Make sure you washed well and car is totally clean.
2) Dry soon enough that dust/pollen has not noticeably settled on car. Rinsing again just prior to drying can flood dust away.
3) Use good drying towel, PFM is one excellent option
4) Where possible, lay the towel across wet panel to let it soak the water in all while minimizing sliding the towel across the paint.
5) When sliding towel across paint, use minimal pressure, no need to dig the towel into the paint.
If applying an LSP after the wash, minimize or eliminate any prior protection be applied by wash soap or drying aid. If you prefer drying aids, use a QD that leaves little-to-nothing behind. N-914 is a good option that leaves nothing.
