Am a newby, used PC and orange pad for the lst time. Clay bared first but was not necesssary, paint is in excellent condition except for swirls. Then used Pinnacle swirl remover #2 and then finishing glaze, and then pinnacle souveran. Disappointed ! Looks worst than before, best I can describe is like a "mat" finish as in some photographs, also with "spider" ? marks, does not shine like the rest of the car. Thankfully I only did one fender. Can someone please tell me how to fix this? Thanks. Marvin

Did you go over the area with a less abrasiv polish after xmt #2? With a white or gray pad? Or try xmt #2 with a white pad!

Try again with a less aggressive pad, and remember to break the comp/polish down good.

My car didnt "like" the orange pad, switched to less aggressive pad and that helped me.

What pads did you use with your polishes?
Sounds almost like you didn't let the polish break down. 2 to 3 pea-sized drops on a pad, then work into 2 X 2 foot sections. Working the section at least for 3 to 5 minutes.
Try first with your XMT2 with LC white polishing pad.....don't really know what kinda pads you have.

:iagree: Make sure you work a polish long enough so it will break down. Otherwise all you are doing is swirling up the paint.

Just a suggestion when your done polishing you should give it a good wipe with rubbing alcohol mixed with H2O (water). This removes all polish residue that hinds any imperfections left.

If at all possible pictures would be great.

And remember to take a look at your work after each step in good light. I'm amazed how often I read a post from someone saying they didn't get great results and they've already polished, glazed and waxed the car. Such a waste of effort.
