What did you do today, in regards to detailing?

I detailed this 28’ boat in preparation for the 4th of July weekend.

It was due for some TLC.

Even the tires on its trailer were looking bad.

I think the engine compartment opens electronically, and I didn’t have the keys. Lol.

It's just a matter of finding the battery switch, then hitting the switch for the engine cover.

Haven't I taught you that?? Oh wait..... No I haven't. Lol.

.....Actually it looks like the keys were in the ignition, but I sure as heck wasn’t about to go flicking any switches on. Lol.

Of course once done coating looks like some idiot leaned on my cars with keys or metal on jeans. Had some good scratches so polished out that door and whilexat it had a high spot on fender I was gonna live with that I decided to redo.

Also hood is not coated so did a 50/50 with TW SNS AND PA Cosmic

Thant stinks. I get it that most people are not detailers or even taking better than decent care of their cars, but no reason to be so damn inconsiderate and oblivious to do something like that.

My lovely wife brought her Beast into the garage just as we were hit by a downburst. Said downburst broke my flag pole mounted to the deck.

I was impressed by the beading of TW S&S.

I have instructed my lovely wife to keep her eyes peeled at Target, Meijer, WalBorg, etc. for any clearance priced bottles and to buy if available.

Washed the RS and the Alfa today...
Tomorrow I plan on trying some new products out.

Used Sonax Alcantara Cleaner on the seats... stuff works really well. I didn’t have any stains on them but it seemed to fluff the fibers up nicely after using it :xyxthumbs:

Washed 400 miles of dust and bugs off of the Fusion at a spray booth here in Sturgeon Bay, Wi while visiting my parents for a few days.
TWSS still beading nicely and I will say that it was a pretty easy time getting all of the bugs off.

I noticed the same thing when cleaning the bugs off of the front of the SS. I also noticed the rain had rinsed the bugs off the front of the wife’s Beast.

To you guys who mix rinseless well in advance, are you using tap water or distilled? If I’m making a detail spray or waterless wash I mix with distilled water and never have issues. If I mix rinseless in say a 5 gallon with gamma lid and use tap water, it seems to “spoil” on me within a week. This is with most any rinseless I’ve tried including ONR and N914.

It may be the water hardness at my place and wonder if this happens to others or not based on that?

Distilled if I’m going to keep it around for awhile. Tap water if I’m going to use it for a rinseless wash the same day..

^^This^^

Most good RW products have water-softening properties, but left to dwell (fight) the minerals and impurities in tap water, they eventually lose over time.

At least in my experiences with them.

Thanks for the response, kind of what I figured, but thought I’d ask. I can generally get a few days out of my tap water RW but get to a week and it’s no good. As far as any WW or detail sprays etc I will use distilled.

AGO ran a BlackFire sale last week so I bought some of their Waterless Wash. Yesterday I had a chance to try it out and I really didn't enjoy it at all. For a WW, the BF is really streaky. I was using it in the early morning, cool paint and 80% shade. It takes twice as many towels to use as any other I've tried to get it buffed off (it's worse than a bad quick detailer, IMHO) because of how hard it is to remove. The 32oz bottle is really clunky to use-- it's heavy and the spray head is undersized for it, so it's hard to hold and I dropped it several times. The WW is expensive compared to, well, every other WW which is why it took a good sale to get me to try it. It cleaned OK but certainly not in my top 5. I stopped using it halfway through the SUV and switched to 3D Waterless which works perfectly fine. I think I'll probably use it as a pre-rinse from now on.

It’s foam Friday. This is the first time using the canopy this year.
