What did you do today, in regards to detailing?

After driving the Falcon more than I had intended over the last couple of days, and having to drive through clouds of dust and dry grass caused by the local council mowing squad (), a wash was in order. Two bucket wash, dried with a blower and microfibre drying towel with Megs Last touch QD.

That grill mesh is a challenge when it comes to drying.

Then gave the Mustang it's weekly clean, those wheels are a PITA!

My lovely wife picked up the winter tires for the SS from Discount Tire this afternoon. Too soon to put them on the SS but the wheels will get cleaned and coated with GTecniq C5 in the next few days plus McKee’s Tire Coating on the Dunlops.

Careful with the tire coating, it seems to produce bad results when applied to new tires. They recommend waiting several weeks with frequent deep cleaning before coating the tires.

I’m ok as the tires are going on three years old. My wife’s new Michelins went through a few months of just cleaning before I even attempted applying the shiny junk to them, been there done that.

I thought the winter tires she got were the ones you wanted to coat :)

I think I'm getting a hang of this RW thingy! Tonight RW with Pinnacle RW using multiple mf towels (not 100% comfortable with the BRS on my car yet) since we had thunderstorms roll through Monday morning and couldn't take seeing the car "dirty"! The one thing I can't do in the garage is hit the wheels and tires...but that's ok since I plan on applying optimum tire coat this weekend.

Restocked a couple of items that I use regularly. Ready for my next detailing session :xyxthumbs:

Man the weather here in Sweden at the moment don't work for me LOL. Today was to no rain but still over 90% humidity. Polishes don't work that well during these conditions for me. Do anyone have any suggestions on a polish line that works in high humidity?

But the weather was better than it looked to be and even the sun was out of the clouds. Since not preped for doing at least a couple of panels done. I was a bit late to get out and starting. Did a waterless wash with EcH2O on the hood and top of the front fenders. Clayed with Bilt Hamber Soft Clay Bar and Dodo Juice Born Slippy Clay Lube.

And while I was wiping off the clay lube with a damped mf towel with EcH2O. I feeling the air basicly getting a high humidity. And I'm not kidding it got totaly grey in the sky and the paint got some dew on it in 5 minutes. This happened at 3pm. Did a test spot with the 21mm longthrow polisher with an Uro-Fiber 50/50 pad and Scholl S20 Black SS. 3 passes and yeah it started to dust on the last pass. Looking like I almost got there after useing a panel prep wipe product. Maybe a notch higher cut compound will be perfect. But that will be for another day.

Ooh and we can get the first snow here in the southern of Sweden already the night between thursday and friday next week. So will see if I need to be preping the winter wheels too next week. Or if it's just melts away directly after the snow has fallen.

/ Tony

Tony, best of luck getting the car prepped and good to go before winter! Unfortunately I can’t help you with the polishes and humidity issue, but I’ve always heard great things about Scholls polishes.

Hopefully the thread bump gets some people to chime in and help you!

Quick time line today...left Maryville TN @8 a.m. EST and drove home to Elk Grove Village and arrived @6:30 p.m. CST. Spent some time with our little one, she missed her Daddy Put her to bed @8:30 p.m. and headed down to the garage to clean up the ES after the almost 600 mile drive home. I finished up @11:15 p.m.

I started with some beta testing of tire/wheel cleaner, scrubbed the tires with a short brissel brush and the Speed Master for the barrels, Mothers wheel brush for the spokes. I then pre-washed using AutoBrite Magifoam (finished the bottle) and let it dwell and rinsed off. I then sprayed down the tires and wheels again but used Brake Buster and let it dwell while I did a 2BM. For the 2BM I used Gyeon Bathe and loved it...again!! Rinsed it down and while wet, to give the finish an additional boost I used 303 Touchless sealant on the car and wheels, rinsed down and MAN THE BEADING!!! Used the Master Blaster to dry the car and crevices, tires and wheels too. I finished using some mineral spirits on the tires, wiped them clean and once dry I applied a coat of 303 Tire Balm.

I then moved to the interior and used some beta testing leather cleaner and now waiting for it to dry so I can finish with the other beta testing product, a leather conditioner for the seats. I forgot to mention that I first started by removing the mats and vacuuming out the interior, sorry it's getting close to bed time, been a long day

Here's the pic, like it never even went anywhere!

Didnt have a pic after i cleaned it but here it is looking all good with its wide stance when i took kids out for ice cream this evening. On side note the wheel spacers were best investment yet besides my new exhaust setup i had done yesterday.

I had a borla pro xs muffler and then did a resonator delete too. But my new setup is stock manifolds, cats and no muffler at all or resonator. Its louder but still great sound. It has the 5.3 v8. I mainly had the borla on there because i wanted it louder but my wife would still occasionally drive it. Now she has 2 cars and its all mine so i wanted more.

No dont have an intake. Stock air box on these things flow pretty good and CAI just winds up being more for sound. I need to get the dod(or newer terms afm) turned off. Mine doesnt burn any oil even at 152,000 miles but the darn cylinder deactivation will eventually cause issues. But i stay on top of oil changes which is really what causes issues. Because of way it shuts off cylinders if your slack on oil changes you will have a lifter failure.

Two bucket wash with Pinnacle body works shampoo today for the first time, soap is real slippery and smells good!

Also, washed/scrubbed/beat the tires FOUR times with Optimum Power Clean getting them ready for the Optimum tire coating! I also used GG Tire Cleaner as well but it didn't make a dent on the Blackfire Tire and Trim Sealant! I think they're ready, just letting the tires dry and then off to coat them tonight or in the morning.

Did a Wolfgang waterless wash on the Sportage. Then had to do a couple of quick passes on the hood and most of the passenger side with the DA using a Meguiars yellow foam pad and D166 due to water sprinkler spots. Followed up with some Beadmaker. My Impreza had a waterless 2 days ago along with Beadmaker.

The Beadmaker really makes the black look even more ridiculous.
