What did you do today, in regards to detailing?

Did the FNW

Started off cleaning the rims with Auto-Fanatic foaming wheel cleaner, just foamed and let sit. I sprayed Gyeon tire cleaner on the tires and let sit. The 2 previous days in a row I wiped the sidewalls down with it. After rinsing down the tires/wheels I foamed the whole car with Mother's 3 in 1 carwash foam and let sit. Rinsed down and then used free flowing water to reduce the beading and thus making drying easier. Once everything was dried I wiped down the tires/wheels and applied the new Auto-Fanatic "Holeshot" tire dressing. Now I must say that I have alot laid down on the tires, they had a great sheen still when I dried them off. I wish I could say it was still the OPT tire coating but I scrubbed and scrubbed after they browned weeks ago from driving in the rain but it is possible that its still there "laying in the weeds" so to speak. Anywho, this is just 1 coat of Phil's newest product and after 10 minutes its dry to the touch

Time will tell on durability but in the directions it says to wipe down the tire with odorless mineral spirits...I didn't, maybe next time

I actually have one but my wife has crap all over it and I was too lazy to put it all away. Lol

It does save a ton of time, I love it!

Cleaned up the Mazda. Car was dirty from being driven in the rain so a rinseless McKee 37 wash. Touched up the tires too.
Finished off the Lexus yearly detail, had to spread it out in two week time just because one step needed a 7 day curing process and work. That pesky thing that lets sleep under a roof.
Dad came over, so cleaned up his car for him. Be warned, there's some vanity shots lol.

First shot is a guess the colour shot.
Other shots are of the two cars sitting in the garage. I get a certain level of self satisfaction from seeing my neighbors car reflected off one car off of the reflection of another car. It's just pure vanity at that point.
Last one is my dads car that was polished about two years ago or so, it's not too bad. I clayed it today, didn't leave any marring or the like. Used a very gentle clay and a very slick lubricant so, no issues.

Took off the front plate as Ohio no longer requires them. Polished and re-coated the front clips.

This morning I tried a spritz of Turtle Wax Ceramic on my glass towel when trying to fix yesterday’s failed cleaning the inside of the minivan windshield. The towel slides easier and so far looks good when driving into the low morning sun.

Tonight: I just placed an order with Autogeek on their Tropical Storm promo.... yes, I’m like a grandma watching a cable shopping station! :D

Congrats on the new law passing. Apparently the $400K Illinoyed saves is a "drop in the bucket" to them so they feel it's not worth it. A broken ass state with yet another corrupt gov and goofy mayor of its largest city, I wish I could leave this state

Same here in Ontario (province of Canada) Still requires front and rear. BS.

Washed the truck this weekend. Chemical Guys Citrus wash and Blackfire Carnauba Spray Wax. Even with it sitting outside and the few water spots it has gained, still looks pretty good.

XR8's turn this week.

Just a general maintenance wash and some engine bay detailing.

Clean and ready for slumber.

The Ranger picked up some sort of tree sap or pollen somewhere along my travels in the past week, the windscreen peppered with a fine film of little dots. No match for a pre-soak snow foam.

Near five hours of detailing bliss, feeling much better for it!

Fixed up a couple of 12yr old Subaru headlights tonight. I give them a 9/10 considering they done by someone previously who hit them with some pretty heavy grit paper and tried filling it with layers of clear.

Before and after example.

Headlight polishing is so tedious. It's so much easier to protect them properly in the first place but ya know, that's a whole other conversation lol

So I did the FNW last night, just a foam/dwell/rinse as it was just dusty. This morning, after watching a video of the 1983 Monte Carlo Groupe B rally, I decided to "top up" the ES.

There was no dew on the car so I got right to it. I decided it was time to finally try the new Griot's Garage 3 in 1 spray ceramic. I can tell you this is a 2 towel product, one to apply and work in and a seperate one to buff. That said what a joy to work with A little truely goes a long way, 2 sprays for one side of my hood and probably could've done 1 with the "drag method" of spraying. I got around the car and used what was in the application towel to do the windows, real easy there too.

The Auto-Fanatic "Holeshot" tire dressing still looked nice but I "topped it up" with a very, very thin line applied across my designated for that product applicator, gave it that little "extra"

I know Loach on our site has tested this product on his YouTube channel and it was going on 4 months durability....well, it's not going to "strain" to go that long here
