What did you do today, in regards to detailing?

Removed a few scratches from a Rav4. Paint looks like it's two different cars but that's what happens when you take pictures outdoors and while the sun is setting. View attachment 71076

Buddy of mine bought an older GMC Suburban. He asked me to polish the headlights. When I saw the paint it looked like someone scrubbed it with a scouring pad. He was happy with the paint but I asked if I could do a quick test spot to see if it could be improved. Ended up buffing out the whole hood and he wants the rest done now. I even got him behind a polisher to do the lights while I did the hood.

Details-2003 Troy bilt in Troy red paint. Engine is Honda OHV with factory exhaust that sounds amazing. 8" front wheels with factory rubber and 11“ rear wheels giving it a mean stance.

Degreased
Washed
Clayed
One step polish
Dressed tire

Columbus Day weekend.

This is my annual "Winter Coat" weekend, as anything later than this might give us that surprise cold snap.

I washed with Megs HW, then used my G9 and Correcting Cream to strip the WGDGPS/Fuzion combo. That combo produced a stunning visual on my metallic for the summer, but I was really disappointed in the protection/longevity.

(Bird bombs ate right through these two products with ease, and just 3 1/2 months in I'd give the beading/sheeting a C+ at best. And this was with religious use of toppers and proper care.)

SO...... I have a clean slate for tomorrow and my old friend Collinite 476s.

I know exactly what I am getting with this product, and it will still have about 80% of it's characteristics come April.

Additionally, the trim will get more McKee's Trim restore, and the whole undercarriage will get soaked with Fluid Film/656.

Bring it on, Jack Frost!!!

Got into a slight fender bender last week so I know when I get the car back from the body shop it will need a proper detailing. I checked my supplies and was surprised to see I had no usable coatings (got some old Mohs) I do have a lot of waxes and sealants but I am always itching to try something new. Since there is a 25% sale on coatings right now I went ahead and ordered the Black Fire Pro Ceramic Black Edition Coating. Super stoked.
 
Annual fall paint correction. It started with a Wolfgang Uber waterless wash and then Wolfgang Clay bar. McKees Iron Remover was next. Just one panel was done today with my Griots G9, HD Compound with microfiber pad, HD Polish + with LC white foam pad.
It’s not as good as what PaulMys would have done, but it looks good.

I had what looked like an excessive amount of dust or something on the ES so I did a Griot's Garage Brillant Shine rinseless wash on it. I'm motivated because of another thread about RW's going on right now. I cleaned the rims too, Brake Buster with 3 brushes, perfect I'll re-dress the tires later and then look forward to what's probably going to be the last warm C&C tomorrow morning

I found around the same longevity with DGPS as you did, that’s why I repolished and reapplied it last week, thought I would get better longevity.

Truck looks good!
