What did you do today, in regards to detailing?

The tires were scrubbed with LA Totally Awesome and dressed with Duragloss 253. The paint was treated with Griots Ceramic Speed Shine.

Hey stupid question because I could find out for myself if I wasn’t too lazy to do it right now, but.. How good does that LATA do at cleaning tires? Better yet, would you say it’s capable of getting them ready for a tire coating? Or is it not that type of clean?

It is definitely that type of clean Ric. I used the TufShine tire cleaner, Adams tire and rubber cleaner and McKees tire cleaner. I would would say that LATA gets the tires just as clean or better than the dedicated expensive cleaners. I cut the LATA 1:1 and the brown stuff starts to melt off the tire as soon as you spray it on. The $1.00 bottle goes a long way.

I just bought four bottles of LATA. Yes, a great tire cleaner and general cleaner for around the house. Im always reaching for it for that.

Washed the FJ today, foamed it with Bowden's Snow Job first, it's so windy here today the foam was flying sideways off the car. Quickly rinsed it, then gave it a 2B wash with Mother's California Gold. Moved it in to the garage to dry it, this time I remembered I could use Meg's Quikwax as a drying aid, rather than drying it with After Glow, then applying Quikwax. I would say there was no significant difference between them as a drying aid. View attachment 74354View attachment 74355View attachment 74356View attachment 74357

Had a light drizzle come through my part of cali a few days ago and ended up getting hammered with water spots. Thankfully they didn't etch and were easily removed via 2BM with meg's hyper wash, WUCSC ftw.

While I had the Qashqai out of the garage, I thought it would be a waste not to wash it as well. It wasn't real dirty, mainly dust, and the protection seems to be holding up well. I think the wheels needed the most attention, cleaned them with Bowden's Wheely Clean, then a 2B wash with Mother's California Gold. I had to keep hosing the panels they were drying so quickly, 30C (86F) and strong gusty winds still. Then I moved it into the garage, dried it with Meg's Quikwax.

Tired, yes, but satisfied, time to reward myself. View attachment 74358View attachment 74359View attachment 74360View attachment 74361

All 3 vehicles got a car wash today. The Explorer was the worst since it lives outside and parked under a tree.

Here's the roof with 1/2 washed. Griots 3-in-1 still hanging in there under all the grime.

Thanks. I’m thinking about trying some Dura Dressing but don’t really feel like buying the kit that includes their tire cleaner if I can just get the tires prepped with some other stuff.

Washed Rav4 with Reset and treated with BF iron remover yesterday. Pure Rinseless followed by BF paint prep today. Added a layer of Graphene Spray coating to it.

Polished glass and treated with same GSC.

cleaned up a friends car for his daughter. Just performed my Clean & Prep for Sale or Trade package which is targeted at vehicles that are in need of a strong exterior & interior clean up prior to selling or trading the vehicle where the current owner does not want to invest in a machine polish yet does want to maximize the appearance and offer a freshly cleaned/sealed vehicle.

Threw a second coat of 303 Graphene on the Kaw 1100. First was yesterday. Mentioned it in another thread, but the paint felt *thicker* after the first coat.. & I know that's not possible, but I can't think of another way to describe it.
Some people have said it's not as slick as other finishes, but last night, maybe 10 hours after the first coat it was as slick as the Megs ceramic hybrid wax. However, I'm in the Mojave Desert & it was hot as balls yesterday so maybe it just needs to bake a bit to achieve slickness.
