What did you do today, in regards to detailing?

For the 2nd day in a row I washed the EN. Yesterday I had a 500ML Kwazzer filled with Bilt-Hamber Surfex @3:1 and sprayed it on the car. The line was very long, waited the better part of an hour, less than that today though. I know this, it needs a Bilt-Hamber Touchless or Auto-foam pre-wash because I can still see the top layer of traffic film...I LOATHE WINTER

I made up a gallon of it at a 3:1 ratio and used it through a 500ML Kwazzer, so not the preferred method. I didn't get anywhere near the same coverage as I do using my IK Foam Pro 12, I just did it this way because it's what I had with me that day.

I'll try it in my IK Foam Pro 12 in the future and report back, probably 4 oz to 1 gallon of distilled water, stay "tuned"

So it's been 2 weeks since I've washed the EN using a pre-wash, last night in 29 degree weather was THE day! I used 1 ounce of DIY Detail Incredible Suds and got THAT level of suds, product is really impressive

Even @9:30 p.m. there were 2 vehicles that pulled in while I was foaming the EN but by the time I emptied the tank I got right in. The pH level of Incredible Suds is reported to be 8.5 and it brought back FULL, strong beading to the EN

The DIY Detail Incredible Suds is impressive and will be used in the rotation for pre-washes, like as a "tweener", Bilt-Hamber Touchless & Auto-foam for the heavy lifting (pun intended) I've also just acquired the just releases Griot's Garage Brillant Finish snow foam and DIY Detail All Clean. Someone at DIY Detail told me to use 4 ounces in my IK Foam Pro 12 and 1 gallon of distilled for my pre-wash, they're confident it can compete with Bilt-Hamber Auto-foam and Touchless....STAY "TUNED" for that challenge

Nice :xyxthumbs: The slightly higher pH of Incredible Suds seems beneficial. I haven't used an DIY products yet but I am definitely going to order soon. My next order will be DIY and BH Touchless/AF.

The Griot's Snow Foam doesn't list a dilution for pump-up foamers. It's 8:1 for a foam cannon, which is the same as the Brilliant Finish Car Wash. So i'll be trying the BF Car Wash dilution for the pump-up foamer, which is ~30:1 (2 oz soap for 60 oz).

So what do you think for my IK Foam Pro 12 w/ a gallon of distilled water...3,4 or 5 oz of soap

So I took my g/f's VERY dirty Cruze for a carwash tonight. I had the IK Foam Pro 12 filled with 4 oz of DIY Detail All Clean and the usual gallon of distilled, also a leftover bottle of TWHS Hyper Foam, enough to do the front tires/wheels.

Now this product is basically a cleaner/degreaser like Alien Kleen or Bilt-Hamber Surfex but someone at DIY Detail tried telling me this is their equivalent because I suggested they make a pre-wash soap like Bilt-Hamber Auto-foam or Touchless

Well my g/f's Cruze is only protected with 303 Touchless Sealant and that was towards the end of fall, so it's in its latter stages of effectiveness right now, so it's not the usual test subject which is my car...obviously

Upon spraying I could clearly see this wasn't foaming, didn't expect it to but even Bilt-Hamber Touchless and Auto-foam Foam better than this, again not that important as Bilt-Hamber pre-washes are tools, not toys like most pre-wash soaps. Now while it "looks" good in the pic I can confirm that by the time I got home I could clearly see dirt on the lower portions, oh well, it's better than it was before AND it's supposed to rain overnight

I also applied some DIY Detail tire dressing, seems like your average product, not alot about it online or on their site, doesn't seem to be too talked up on the bottle either, guess we'll see how it holds up. I'll say this though, it's watery, spead easy enough and left her DWS06'S with a satin look.

I decided to do some wheel work today. I didn't take them off, but I did remove the centre caps. Cleaned them up with Mother's Plastic Polish. The powder coated wheel surface was looking very hazy, or cloudy. Could be from cleaning them with Hyper Foam. I cleaned them with Carpro Eraser, then hand polished them with Dodo Juice Lime Prime, wiped again with Eraser, and finally put some HS Ceramic Wet Wax on to protect them.

I wanted to switch back to the original alloys, but they want to charge too much. Stripping 10 tyres, putting 5 back on, then balancing the 5. I think they just didn't want the job.

And yes, that is rust appearing in the gap between the rim and the centre on the second picture, part of why I want to change back. They're just cheap and nasty steel wheels.

Cleaned up 2 of 4.

CRV was trashed and crusty with Ohio salt but cleaned up with ease. Going on 20 months wearing CarPro SiC.

Grabbed the IK Foam Pro 12 filled w/ Bilt-Hamber Auto-foam and ran the EN through the wash for its first wash of 2023. When I got home and put groceries away I noticed it's time for a RW due to actuslly "seeing" the film, so I mixed up 2 oz of DIY Detail RW and 3 gallons of water and I'm about to go out there now, it's 2nd wash of 2023

Wanted to knock off the road film, get some fresh air and give this knee a test run. Good wash. Of course, it started to drizzle mid detail! Not a factor. Finished with HSFW as a rinse wax. Dried. Done. Afterwards knee felt ok. True test will be work tomorrow. First wash in 2023.

So after doing the DIY Detail RW, having lunch I got back out there to address some "stains", kinda looked like water spots is the best way to describe it. They were on the majority of the wing and the black piece under the rear window, also under the wing, a couple spots on the roof and the back of the hood. I leveled them using Griot's Garage 3 in 1 ceramic by hand, no problem. I then sprayed some Griot's Garage Trim & Detail coating on the bumper, side skirts and rear lower pieces. Next up some of the just released Griot's Garage Ceramic tire dressing and finished out things with Griot's Garage Ceramic Speed Shine

I'm running a load of mf towels right now and need to go out and vacuum the mats and surrounds out

Cars are looking great folks. I haven’t hand washed my daily since October lol. Even though it’s warmer than normal, the dirt road has been a mess. No sense in washing it.

How did you like the Griots Ceramic tire dressing? Seems like the HS is the benchmark.

Did a wash with BH Auto Wash and then followed up with Griot's Ceramic Wash & Coat before winter really starts.

I also decided to take out my WeatherTechs, vac out the EN's interior and clean them with the WeatherTech cleaner and seal them up with their protectant.

Next up was the dash & door panels and for that I used the brand new DIY Detail Inteiror Clean & Protect. This is basically their interior detailer and not only did it finish out great but the SMELL I finished up with DIY Detail Interior ceramic on my seats (leather sides & Alcantarainserts), steering wheel and Alcantara shift knob, boot, hand brake handle and arm rest, makes the Alcantara look even and brand new️Finishing up was CG's Signature scent on the carpets...now I'm done for the day

I like it ALOT

This is in a spray bottle and does come out kinda thick into your applicator and is fine but a flip top dispenser might be better

That said, I did like 3 sprays per tire and it spread very well. I'll say it goes on satin but after some time, atleast 15-30 minutes the satin turns into more of a sheen.

No matter what you like for tires, Griot's Garage had something for you, incredible coverage for EVERYONE
