What did you do today, in regards to detailing?

You know that’s 3 times the recommended dilution. It has a 2000 to 1 dilution.

Next time try .4 to .5oz to 3.5 gallons of water.

Yeah .5 oz is more than enough for 3.5-4 gallons, stuff is truely amazing. I always have about 3 gallons first, then add the soap and suds it up

Last time I used it, I started with the recommendation but ended up adding a little more towards the end of the wash to restore the suds.

Took advantage of a slow work day to finally get a wash in on the daily. I’m gonna lose my Autogeek club card if I say how long it’s been since it’s last wash (focus on family time at home, 75 miles a day that get it dirty again, and 293k on the clock have made it tough to stay motivated), so pardon the state of the winter wheels…

(Wash- Prefoam with Griots foaming surface wash + Ammo Boost anti-salt, rinse, bucket wash with some Duragloss soap a member gave me + Boost again. Flood rinse, Foamed with Griot’s Foaming Poly Gloss just for something simple. Wheels hit with Sonax Wheel Cleaner Plus, chased with Ech20)

Also did a speed wash on my coworkers car, chased it with Griot’s Rinseless Wash and Wax as a drying aid to give the hammered paint a little glimmer of shine. I forget how easy that stuff is to work with! Started with Sonax BSD since I have it here (I should have known better), but with cold panels I just wasn’t going to fight it.
Coworker was funny - walked up to his car, stepped back and looked at it, looked at me and asked “Did you spray some magic juice on it?”
Not that it looked candy coated or anything, but definitely looked better than it has!

Started taping it off.

Why all the tape?

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I don't like cleaning polish residue off black plastic and moldings. Lets me be a little care free while I'm working.

No one else does this?

I ended up switching over from Wolfgang Uber compound to Griot's fast acting cream . I feel like I was getting a little better results. I still need to do the front and rear bumpers.. I ran out of orange pads....

I plan on using Griots correcting cream followed by Wolfgang paint sealant wax.

@Bdubbs - looking good. The problem will be once you finish, the car will sit in the garage for another month until the snow finally melts. :)
I'm near St. Paul and we still have a good 1.5ft of snow in our front yard (not including the 3-4ft snow banks).

I appreciate it thank you. I hear you, it seems this snow is never going to melt... The temperatures should be higher than what they are .

Luckily I have some other detailing I can do on my 03 cobra.

I "tried" running the EN through my carwash for the 2nd day in a row and for the 2nd day in a row the app didn't work

I've had issues before but involved not clearing the cashe, never thought about it as I'm not tech savvy and that's putting it lightly!! I expect tech to work everytime because of the brain power that makes it happen

After talking to corporate and getting a number I got VM. At this point I'm pissed because I've spent alot of time there, yes I could pay but out of principal I didn't because I pay for a monthly subscription.

I get home and make up a batch of DIY Detail RW and get to it. After being soooo dejected I felt MUCH better cleaning the EN by hand, just love this stuff. The car looked even glossier but I can't prove it but there's something about a contact wash

I have the option to have something put in my car that reads the wash bit then I can't wash my work van or my g/f's car...why can't things just work right, I did nothing to my phone or the app

Around here I believe the subscriptions are per car. Maybe they locked your account?

Speaking of losing their “AG Card”, I haven’t done a contact wash on my Jeep since October or November. Its in need of iron removal and rubber/tar removal and a good paint cleaner/AIO.

The interior has been wiped down often as of late though.

I should ask about this, although I've been washing my work van and g/f's Cruze since getting the sub back in July of 2022.

I really need this wash as it's convenient, quick and those damn pine trees in the neighbors yard still exsist

Hit the DIY for a quick rinse followed by rinseless and topped with some Griots 3-in-1. Pictures below are after DIY showing remaining film and after rinselss. No pic after 3-in-1, but not really different since the hood has a layer of Cquartz SiC.

2nd step polish done on drivers side. We'll see how far I get tonight. Would be nice to get it done and apply the sealant tomorrow.

Tried out the griots garage metal polish on my neglected truck toolbox. Pretty impressed with this product. Applied by hand

That's come up like the ducks nuts mate :xyxthumbs:

This was one of those issues I had the last resort ready(my 3" eat sanding kit) I did have a ton of faith it was going to budge. Take in mind it was about 30 minutes before sundown the shots were bad and I never hit it with a finisher. Tomorrow I am starting first thing and will get plenty of much nicer shots!
I started with BH Touchless since his car hadn't been washed since October.
Used Adams Iron remover
Then a medium clay mitt.
Lastly hit it with TWHS Slick-N-Slide
Then grabbed my three heaviest compounds. The Last Cut +/ Jescar Heavy Cut and 3D ACA 500
Decided I would use Jescar first.
Grabbed my Rupes LH19E with 6'Plate and 6.5" LC Natural White Wool Heavy Polishing pad
It came off like butter. Never had enough light to use any finisher.Barely even wiped all the compound of as you can see.
Like I mentioned it will et a full job tomorrow and will be sure to post some nice pics!
