What did you do today, in regards to detailing?

Some poor engineering went on when my house got built. If I’m in the alley it is ever so slightly slopes to the center and the drains downhill. But with snow melting and slush everywhere I was trying to hustle so the neighbors would quit splashing slop all over the car.

I’m waiting for the foam surface prep. I’d get a gallon but I already have 3 gallons worth of soap to use up. Might have to add apc or degreaser if it gets like that again.

Oh most definitely it is gone. McKees 10 min paint sealant lasted like 6 weeks. I washed it up and put hydro blue on it. So mad.

The wifes in the other hand was not degraded but the crud was extremely heavy. All is better now though

Foamed, rinsed, not much difference, then 2bm both. Cleaned wheels and tires. Tires not so much but enough to look better. Hit both of em with hydro blue and used up my 16oz bottle. I like it better than wetcoat. Dried both using pfms. Going to do engine bay on wifes before it goes in for a service. Hopefully vacuum mine out tomorrow and wipe down inside.

N-914 rinseless. Then Cleaned tires 6 times to coat with Tacs system tire coat Did 3 passes with griots foaming tire cleaner. Problem was after 1st cleaning foam was not browning did a 3rd time no browning. Forgot I ordered some 303 T&R, hit it with that. Brown as $#!T. 3passes good. Next tire I hit with the 303. Then griots foam was white. Then 303.... brown foam. It may be good for light duty but if your gonna coat your tires go with something else. I chose these to as both were suppose to be safe in all WHEEL finishes. Didn’t want to stain matte wheels.

Not what did I do today, but what I’m planning on doing tomorrow.

I’m planning on using H-D Speed on my new truck to remove the spider scratches from the dealership.

The weather is supposed to be between 36-40 degrees when I plan on doing it.

Will the colder temps have an ill effect on the product or outcome??
Should I wait until the weather is in the 50’s or warmer?

Any and all responses are greatly appreciated.

I'd try a test spot first.

If on a clean surface, I'm sure the Speed would work fine in the lower temps (though not ideal).

And I would also think the removal would be compromised somewhat in the lower temps. But this is only me speculating. (I love Speed, and have used it often. But always above 50 degrees)

Like I said, turn the truck into the sun, and do one test spot. If unpleasant results are found, stop and have a beer. Lol

Not sure where you are exactly, but the cold temps are a real bummer for us Geeks, and I know what you are feeling.......:props:

I tried something unconventional today... According to Sweet Project Cars, Mothers Mag and Aluminum Polish can be used on clear plastic such as gauge clusters or instrument panels. I went ahead and gave it a try on my old Cadillacs gauge cluster since I’m going to be selling the car soon and whaddya know... It actually works. It works phenomenal. It worked so good that I went ahead and tried it on my newer Cadillacs instrument panel and it removed the light scratches and left it perfect.
Everything we know is a lie.lol.

I tested a metall polish and finished with the Mothers Billet on some nasty headlights. And did it in the early summer I think and looked them out last week. What do you it has holding up awesome. It's outside 24/7 and it's faced at the east so not much direct sunlight on them though. But think it's impresive it don't has been oxidized again over more than 6 months since done.

Awesome that it work on the gauges. That is some sensitive plastic and often not much to do with them when they have been scratched up. Are the Cadillacs gauges known to be extreme sensitive of scratching them?

LOL that's why I'm on forums and not Facebook or Twitter LOL. So I can write my long textbooks :)
Have always been hard for me to answer or ask questions in short text. But with social media today it's almost necessary to do so. Just feel like much is left out and it's very easy to missunderstanding. Even this got got long winded LOL

Do you think it would work on piano black plastic? Gotta got that rear deck lid and seems to be an issue.

I wouldn’t say the gauges on Cadillacs are sensitive, no. BTW it even worked on the stereo display plastic. [not infotainment screen]
