What did you do today, in regards to detailing?

Going to try Darkside I need a better dressing just trying to go through what I have.

You'll love Darkside but just know it has to be leveled after a bit, even if it sits for a while This product has a controllable look and has GREAT durability

I'm rather impressed with the self cleaning capabilities. I didn't even use a dedicated tire cleaner. I foamed my car with Reset and hit the tires with it and that was enough to get them clean.

Yet another interior coating. What are your thoughts on the DIY Ceramic interior?
20% off today on a lot of their ceramic stuff. Just add to the cart and discount if automatic. Hoping they'll give a more discount near holidays if they'll do 20% for Halloween

Finished clay bar on the 93 reef blue hatch mustang. Hard to capture decent pictures showing paint defects. But it has plenty.

I plan on doing a 3 step on this car this weekend.

I hope so! Some panels, like the passenger side fender had so many contaminates it felt like sandpaper. Feels very smooth just after clay bar.

Well got a little done tonight. I'm doing a 3 step process because this paint is rough. This is a little progress on only the first step. Griots Boss fast correcting cream was used.

From yesterday actually but the usual touch-free wash after work and afterwards an application of Bilt-Hamber QD. Supposed to be nicer over the weekend, so a couple RW's on the EN & Cruze

A simple wipe down with NV Boost to remove a whole bunch of little hand prints, it was on school pick up duty yesterday. I want to use it up so I can justify getting some Boost V2.

Looks great. Could maybe cut down on the number of steps?

It's a 1 year color, only available on 1993 models.

It's been a lot of years and I don't know my Mustang history that well, but that still really looks like the '79 body style, although of course with some changes to the front (2 headlights vs. 4, etc.). Were they really still on that '79 (what was that, the Fox-body, that was used as the base for sedans also at that time?) chassis in 1993?? If I had to guess I would have said that car was '85 or '86, not '93.

@Setec Astronomy 79-86 models are called 4-eye. Those headlights are recessed in the bumper. The interior is completely different as well. I've been a foxbody mustang enthusiast since the late 90's.

Ha ha, "recessed in the bumper", us old timers referred to those as "sealed beams" until Ford came out with the '84 Thunderbird and changed everything (with the help of the DOT changing the regulations). I really wanted an '80 Cobra (with the 4-cyl turbo, I'm not sure the 5.0l was avail at that time, that might have been the first year--or was the 5.0l avail from the get-go?) which of course was based on the aero package from the '79 Indy Pace Car replica, which would have been a lot harder buy. I wanted the black with the fluorescent green trim and cobra on the hood.

That picture of the "4-eye" also looks like it has those oddball Michelin tires/wheels that I can't remember what they were called (TRX?). People forget that although Michelin invented the radial tire, that was about the last revolution (no pun intended) they caused in the industry, despite their repeated attempts (I'm still waiting to see an Uptis on the road).

Decided to coat my 3 season set-up this morning before college football comes on. I have an OLD bottle of Pinnacle 850 Diamond Paint Coating (remember that stuff). IIRC I've got some DG paint costing mixed in there too but no worries, it applied and removed w/o an issue and did infact produce GREAT gloss

They will cure in the apartment for a week and then go down to the basement to "rest" for the winter

Late morning Maintenace wash on the truck. Cleaned the tires with Nanoskin wheel & tire cleaner. Very good product by the way. And went back to Duragloss #253 for the tires. Love the durability of a ceramic tire shine, but the look of #253 is amazing. Finished with TWHS wet wax.

I can't remember the last time the Cruze was washed and it showed, VERY dirty. I decided to do a Griot's Garage Brillant Shine rinseless wash on it but a little stronger ratio (5 oz to 4 gallons of water) For wash media I grabbed the DIY Detail Legacy sponge and IK pump sprayer, great combo, all of it

Pre-treating a panel at a time, cleaning it and drying made drying SO EASY! I didn't dress the tires yet as I'm going to wait till they truely dry and then apply some 303 Tire Balm
