What did you do today, in regards to detailing?

Car washes create more work for detailers FACTS #detailing - YouTube

Not me obviously but look at this paint and then the 2 doors shot🫣

I see this car every weekday during car rider dismissal at my school. The owner must have a subscription to the tunnel wash because it's the same thing every week. Once a week from a distance I'll see it approaching and it looks clean. The black paint is shining and I can see the wet looking tires but as soon as it gets up close I have to wonder if the owner understands what's happening to her paint every time she runs it through the auto wash. It's scratched to hell and there's always a film and I can see where the tiring dressing has stuck to the rocker panels. I just don't understand how any one can see this after a car wash and think that there car is actually clean.

These days people just treat cars like disposable appliances. It's a crying shame.

Took the g/f's Cruze to the touch-free wash for Thanksgiving, pre-wash using Griot's Garage Brillant Shine snow foam and it truely lifted the dirt from the paint

Decent today on this Thanksgiving. So, Thanksgiving detail on the truck after a London broil lunch. Next 5 days off and this looked like the only day for doing a wash.

Getting a little low of pre-wash soap (plenty of Bilt-Hamber Touchless left) so I wanted to see if the new P&S Inspiration ceramic maintenance soap was available locally at Car Supplies Warehouse...it wasn't. What I did buy was Pure:est A3 alkaline snow foam, pH of 11, so slightly less that Bilt-Hamber Touchless and Auto-foam, 12 & 13 respectively. Looking forward to trying my third Pure:est product, so far so GREAT

Loaded up the Accord with whatever I could cram into it and made it to Atlanta to commune with my wife’s family. I was able to give my MIL’s Nissan a proper deep cleaning this year. Unfortunately the paint is now too thin to safely polish but I was able to clean it up, coat with CSL and top the most vulnerable panels with EXO. The glass and trim were treated with CanCoat and with all things considered it came out pretty good.

I decided to try out Carpro Clarify Phobic today. Tried it on the Qashqai first, the glass was basically clean already, but it was raining outside. Because it was already clean I just used a single spray on each of the side windows and a couple on the front and back. Started off using a single folded MF wiping with one side first then turning to dry off, but decided it's better with two. As Deyon said, the scent is very muted, nothing like the Krystal Klear Bubble Gum Blitz I normally use.

An hour later the rain had stopped, so it was time for the FJ, I dried the few remaining rain drops left on the glass, the windshield and rear window were the dirtiest, so I used a couple of sprays on each side of the windshield and three across the back, and a single spray on each side window. Same 2 MF wiping method, came up nice and streak free. We should get more rain tonight, so I'll see how hydrophobic it is.

FYI for folks. Was picking up an online order at a local store that is known for selling BH. The shelves were not as well stocked with it so I asked them about it. Looks like they're phasing that out due to import costs. Stock up now if you want any.

So you're saying the detail supply company in "Eastern PA" that doubles as Bilt Hamber USA, is no longer going to import Bilt Hamber? I appreciate you bringing this up, I had no idea there was a retail location like that.

Maybe now BH themselves will setup distribution in the US so it can be available from multiple retailers.

Maybe but shipping must be high, maybe their previous distributor just wasn't large enough volume wise

Once again, we all know and support a LARGE distributor of detailing products

Well a little bit ago I placed a 2nd order, no Bilt-Hamber Touchless left or listed but Auto-foam was AND it was on sale from $59.99 to $34.00, a smoking deal without a doubt

Autogeek...come on

Yeah, it's pretty heavily discounted right now.

Took the g/f's Cruze to the touch-free wash after getting its tires rotated

Later I took out the carpeted mats from the EN, vac'd it out and re-installed the WeatherTechs
