What did you do today, in regards to detailing?

Rinsless with Idrosave. Liked it.

Washed wheels with MysticBubblr.

The FNW returns

So I've got some time before I pick up my daughter from movie night at school, so let's get after it here

The EN has been rained on a bit but when driving the roads were fairly dry by then, no worries as the Gyeon Q2 Pure EVO is going strong! I did a simple pre-wash w/ Bilt-Hamber Touchless, let dwell and hosed off and then free flowing water to knock down the beads and flush out the jams...MF'er (who gets that reference)

I then dried off the EN and used Nv Boost v2 and damn...WHAT A PRODUCT! I mean it's cooling down, about 52 and sun going down and stuff was a FANTASTIC drying aid and the slickness, yeah it's an "enhanced quick detailer" alright, Aussies over here sandbaggin'! This product is VERY V E R Y slick and I'm sure the gloss is there

I finished up drying the rims and tires and I'm about to do a quick vac, have some Dr. Pepper ZERO and head out to pick up the little one

If Boost v2 had a scent, it would be almost perfect.

I got my windshield replaced on the EN this morning and thank God for insurance because out of pocket was almost $1100...$0.00 is always best

Yea. Some insurance you have to have a glass replacement clause. Found out I did not have this and added it immediately!

After a week of torrential rain and wind, did the usual Maintenace wash on the truck today. Friday nights ride home was nasty! Usual wet wax as the drying aid and #253 on the tires.

Our glass deductible has gone from a separate $250 to being rolled in with the rest of the policy with a deductible of $1,000 over the past few years

They don't have a separate glass clause anymore

You can still get a general $250 policy deductible but the cost per year is prohibitive

This is the price we pay in Alaska for using so much dirt on the roads instead of salt

Rusted or busted

Although NOT in the first FuelFed C&C tomorrow, I freshened up the EN this evening

Started with Brake Buster and my 4 brushes to clean the tires and wheels. Next was a Labocosmetica Idrosave RW to even out the finish and wipe down the jams and engine bay

The TWHS graphene tire dressing is looking great, no need to top them up but I did do a quick vac and sprayed Monkey Gas interior scent from Griot's Garage in the interior

Btw keep an eye out for pics from the show tomorrow...stay "tuned"

So are truck shows worse than car shows, for people touching, and I suppose climbing on, things that they shouldn't be?

No, this is strickly due to improper techniques when washing or wiping down the paint.

Hopefull this guy learns proper ways real quick..if not hes either gonna run outta money or run outta paint lol

I've been using KCx Guf, which was designed to be a non-slip dressing. However, I really like P&S Swift for floor mats. While it wasn't designed for this role, rather its an interior quick detailer, but I find it has just the right amount of "enhancement" without being slick like applying a traditional dressing would. Either product would sprayed on and leveled with a towel.

We are taking the new car on it’s first road trip in a few days

We are going to visit our granddaughters in Homer Alaska for our oldest granddaughter’s 16th birthday

Homer is on the ocean so lots of seagulls and lots of ravens as well

That prompted me to finally get a “bird bomb box” ready

Towels were an easy choice but I kept trying to cram a WW/QD, an interior cleaner, and a glass cleaner into the box I selected to fit in an allocated location

I finally just quit fighting it and came to the conclusion I should have come to all along

I got a small 8 oz spray bottle from Walmart that I have Griot's Speed Shine in. I keep that in the car (except for winter) with some cut up pieces of Costco microfibers for bird bombs.

Went to the self wash bay on Saturday and did a foam & rinse with Griot's foaming surface wash. Then did a rinseless on Sunday. It was still around 70 degrees in the evening when I did it. Car was still a little dirtier than usual when I did the rinseless.

Man, I am always in awe of your paint pics, I still LOVE that color

Mazda really has some stunning colors and you keep it up immaculately

Toyota gray was ok but they ruined it the last couple of years with that sickly green tinge they added to it

Thanks :) If you saw it up close, you'd see that it isn't immaculate tho. There's a big Dr. Colorchip session in my future to try to cover all the rock chips - the downside of doing so much highway driving. At some point later this year, it'll get machine polished too.

I need to get a kit for my little blue car, it has some rock rash too

I used to use Langka kits for my TT, but Dr Colorchip seems to be the hot ticket these days

I hooked up this truck yesterday. Just a good full detailed wash.
