What did you do today, in regards to detailing?

Someone from Australia posted a video on Instagram showing a standard random breath test, and so many comments came in from Americans about illegal search an seizure, and about we're giving up our rights. But it's an accepted part of life here.

I also don't like speed cameras, both fixed and mobile. They don't correct the behaviour as it happens. You don't know anything until weeks later when you get the fine in the mail. Nothing slows speeders down more than marked police cars out on the road. And this is from someone with one speeding fine in 36 years of driving, and I got it when I 19.
Your country...your rules, we shouldn't be saying anything like that

Today I did rinse less washes on my Tacoma and my wife’s CRV. I did two firsts on those washes. I eased into new for me Optimum Hyper Foam rinseless. I actually mixed it 50/50 with blue ONR and sprayed the mix with my IK Multi Pro 12 (non foamer) as the presoak and then did a one bucket wash with the same 50/50 mix. It did not foam at all which was my goal. So next time maybe I’ll try skipping the 50/50 mix. On the Tacoma I did a presoak with Road Warrior and Cherry foam and my foamer as the Tacoma was a bit more dirty than the CRV. However wheels and tires on both got foamed with the Road Warrior and Cherry Foam.

Also I used my new Ryobi compact blower. It is advertised at 220 cfm and 140 mph. I don’t use it to dry the whole vehicle. It is ideal for use with rinseless washing. I towel dry first and use a drying aid. Then I use the Ryobi to blow the remaining water from the grill, mirrors, tires, wheels, moldings, emblems, etc. The big advantage is I can hold the Ryobi in one hand and a drying towel in the other. Could use it to blow dry entire vehicle but my larger blower is better suited for that and I only use that when I shampoo wash and rinse with the hose as much more liquid is left on the paint.

The blower was $79.00 and I got two lithium 6 ah batteries for another $139.00. I really like the compact Ryobi.

I reverse that. Use the blower first, then towel dry. The blower will drive out RW onto the rest of the car.

My method for rinseless is presoak (with rinseless ) then contact wash sections. As soon as I have a section washed, such as roof and windows, I spray that section with my drying aid and then towel dry that section. So that section is essentially finished. I then move on to another section and do the same. After I've washed the entire vehicle it is dry with the exception of the trapped water that I blow out and then dry up that limited water that gets blown out.
My thinking on this is it keeps the washed rinseless left on the panels from drying by the sun. Maybe not the way others do it but it works for me.

That is GORGEOUS

Quite the coincidence…haven’t seen an Aston Martin since the purple one nearly 2 years ago then it gets mentioned here and I see 2 today.

Bright Kermit The Frog green one going the other way as I drove to work and a dark green metallic got dropped off at the shop this afternoon.

I just looked here, $149 at Bunnings, our Home Depot. I got the Bigboi for under $100 from memory, but that's corded. Would I pay $50 more for the convenience of cordless, probably.

Sunny and 60 today, after 2 days of rain and dirt...this could be the last chance at a 2BM @home, so I took FULL advantage!

I started with 4 oz of Griot's Garage Foaming Surface Wash in the Griot's Garage foam gun and let dwell before rinsing down, such a great product for my needs! Next were the tires & wheel, the usual Brake Buster and all 4 brushes to bring them up to spec!

For the 2BM I used Adam's carwash soap, 2 oz in 3.5 gallons of water, truely a solid product for your maintence wash, great suds and lubricity...perfect! While washing the panels you can see the ADS coating "fighting off" the soap, simply amazing and once rinsed, the beading...

This pic was taken at the grocery store before it got too dark

Those rims go with the car the best of all you posted.

It's a give and take thing, the RBT thing works. It was brought in back in 1982 and is estimated to have saved around 6000 lives in my state. It's better than roadside sobriety tests, which can vary if the police don't like you. I've seen the stories of perfectly sober people being arrested and locked up, and later winning hundreds of thousands of dollars in compensation.

The noise thing is annoying, but there has to be some control, otherwise we would have idiots driving around with open side pipes. I love the sound of a good V8 or straight 6, when it's done right, but there are too many people who think loud equals good. I was one of them in my youth.

There are things we just don't get about you guys, but I won't go into it, it will just start debates we don't want. You won't change my mind and I'm not trying to change yours.
100% on both counts. I get to listen to all the young bucks thrashing around with the noisy Commodore's and Falcon's every Thursday, Friday and Saturday night, and well into the small hours. And yes, there is a huge difference between a nice sounding car and one that is merely loud.

I’m all over with batteries…. I don’t feel this would be worth me getting into another system also. Crying to narrow down to dewalt and Ego myself.

If it were $99,for Black Friday I’d do it.

Well everything else I have that is battery is Milwaukee. However I have an old Dewalt kit that has a sawzall, circular saw, drill and light that the batteries (second set ) are shot but the tools are still good. I think these new batteries might work in those old tools. I can justify the new batteries as I will be using the blower a lot. If it was something I would only use a half dozen times a year I would just stick with my larger corded blower which does a great job once it gets plugged in but takes two hands to use it then one has to wind up and put away the 75 ft cord.

I have tons of corded tools and the great thing about them is one never has to buy batteries for them.

Have you ever considered something like this? It is rechargable via usb type c and it can fit in your pocket

I had never seen that particular one before and had never considered something like that for detailing

Do you use one?

I just bumped my coffee and sloshed it all over the side table and the arm and side of the recliner and the first thing I saw when I went to the cleaning supplies closet was a bottle of Megs Quick Detailer draped with a clean Kirkland yellow microfiber so I just wiped everything down with that. Looks and feel pretty darn clean

Passing on ceramic coating the furniture
