What did you do today, in regards to detailing?

Yeah, but what Opie is doing is off-label for those products, those are supposed to be rinsed off, it's the Preludio that you're are supposed to be able to follow with just a rinseless.

Opie, I'm not saying you're wrong, that would make things a lot simpler if you could use Primus and Purifica for both conventional and rinseless. I imagine Labo has some reason they don't recommend that...unless they just want you to buy 2 different pairs of pre-washes.

I think he’s doing what a lot are calling a hybrid wash. He is foaming Primus on and rinsing then doing a rinseless wash.

I've used both Bilt-Hamber twins in my Griot's Garage foam gun and rinsed off with the garden hose sprayer and I didn't notice an issue...other than crazy beading

Have you ever Rinsless washed after using AutoFoam?

I could fit a set of clubs in my C5 *with* the top off and stored in the back. I used a lightweight walking golf bag that was thin and fit in between the top and the trunk-floor when the top was stowed away in its designated storage area. Was never going to be a deal breaker for me, I don't even play golf anymore as I can't twist my back like that, but was always an interesting data point I thought. Once I needed to stock up on lump charcoal and drove to the local wholesaler (Berger Brothers in Chicago) to load up 5 40lb bags. Even though I'd brought contractor bags to slip over each charcoal bag the guy loading up the car took one look and said, nope, not like that . . . and came back with some cardboard to line the "trunk" before beginning. One more reason I always tipped those guys well! :) That C5 sure had a lot of utility!
I guess I'm in the minority of folks that actually like the look of the C8. Non-starter for me is no stick. I'm sorry to all the slush-box fans out there but, to me, it can't be called a sports car if it doesn't have a stick.

I’m in your boat. Was better looking in real life. Base front bumber could use some help. Rear end doesn’t scream super car. I don’t like any car stock and when I finally seen some SEMA builds was when I was intrigued but no stick was issue for me as well.

Well, I get that and the option should NEVER have gone away but there's plenty of auto sports cars

Might as well be self driving and electric…”. Wouldn’t stop me from buying one but comparing to something manual… will always go manual.

Auto’s are faster now that a computer shifts but for me it’s just driver experience

Also no time yesterday to contact wash the jeep, its been months. So primus 2.0 1:30 in ik multi sprayer, pressure washed it off and sprayed ADS beads on it. Definatly ramped up the beading. Wife even asked if i put something on it because her hand slipped off the door handle. She said it felt

Mmm. Beading on side looks great. But as a CanCoat competitor I think the beads on top for phobic look base.

Beads performance looks good. Sounds like it’s slick too.

I swapped a manual S550 Mustang for an auto S650. I thoroughly enjoyed the manual experience, it was my first sports car with a manual. For the new car, I wanted to try something different, so I chose the 10-speed. At this stage, I don't regret that choice, it's still an engaging car to drive, even without the tactility of a clutch pedal and gear shifter.

I didn't completely hand in my manual transmission card, my daily driver is a MT-82 6-speed manual, probably the only Ranger on earth that gets driven with rev-matched heal-toe down shifts! :ROFLMAO:

Yeah phobic beading on top were not as good as can coat, but atleast phobic is slick unlike can coat. Worked great on the windshield. Started shedding water at 30mph.

And cant wait to get to apply Beads on a clean surface to see how much if at all it gets better.

My s550 was my 1st american v8. Thought I didn’t mind that it was auto. Till I got back into a stick in the Camaro.

For me if I have the option of a manual I will go for it as it’s just a way better driving experience… for me. It feels like I feel the road and the car better. It’s not about performance it’s the experience…

I prefer AutoFoam with my Road film here in NW.

BH does say AF and Touchless do affect different road films and such in development cerebral way.

Maybe give Touchless a try?

It would certainly be worth a try although it is going to be a while before I can use it except as a quick pretreat before the tunnel wash

I could try them in my IK 2 and 12 and do side by side on the hatch and lower rear as they are always the worst

Actually, I could have washed the cars outside yesterday and today, minus the horrific wind

It was above 40 yesterday and is 39 right now with a Chinook wind

The lawn is almost entirely green again

Too bad the hoses and PW are all put away for the "winter"

Washed the Qashqai today, it was caught in a dirty 10 minute shower last week.
PSX_20241207_175721.jpg

Foamed with some Eclipse Hyper Foam, probably the cheapest foam on the market over here. Used a basic garden hose foam gun, I didn't want any dwell time as there's not much cloud cover today.
PSX_20241211_144340.jpg

First rinse removed most of the visible dirt
PSX_20241211_144806.jpg

Moved it back inside for a 2B wash with Reset, then back out for another rinse, and back in to dry it with TWHS Wet Wax, including in the door jambs and fuel cap.

Even though foaming appeared to remove most of the dirt, rinse bucket shows otherwise, but still not to bad.

I hate dirty rain, but it's that time of the year where it's floating around up there in the sky.

Thank you, I can vouch for my neighbourhood, there's a few in the area that are not up to standard. There's a black one 2 doors up that was bought probably 2 years ago that has never been washed. And no, he's never asked, or made the "you could do mine next" comment.

1935 Auburn. Prepping for the AZ Concours in January. High level restoration by the owner. Teaching him paint correction. Did the front fenders today….. we get distracted easily! Next week the rear fenders and boot.

I got to try out Nextzett Cockpit Premium today, tried it out on the Qashqai. It was only a little dusty inside, other than the door pockets which had numerous lolly wrappers, tissues, tissue packets, and for some reason a pen that looked like it had been run over.

I used a MF pad for easy control, it applies very easy, and removed dirt from the gear selector and steering wheel that I didn't realise was there, invisible on the dark surface I guess. The scent is citrus, but not over powering, it doesn't smell like urinal cakes to me, but I guess it might depend on how much you use, I only had to do 7 - 8 sprays for the whole front area. Two things I really like, it dries to a matte finish, and after it dries it's not slippery, the steering wheel feels good, quite grippy.

Took my g/f's Cruze to the touch-free wash a little bit ago, it wasn't too bad actually, so that coat of Collinite Bead Coat I applied recently is paying divends

I also sprayed some Sudzlabz wheel & tire cleaner on her hoops before going into the wash, trying to finish off that bottle, it's actually a pretty decent product

This is as close to detailing as I am going to get today

The space between the 2 cars is filled with boxes and totes of 47 years worth of Christmases that the boss swore she was going to go through and donate 75% of

Yeah, ok...
