What did you do today, in regards to detailing?

Yesterday I washed my wife’s car and then mine. Both are already coated so just a maintenance wash. To be honest, the Gyeon Mohs coating I put on my CLS in October of 2017 is holding up super well and just looks like it’s performing as promised. The smell is awful when doing the coating but the product works as advertised. The Polish Angel Viking I used on my Wife’s AMG was super easy to apply but I’m not so sure, after only 2 months, that its impressing me w beading which makes me wonder if it’s losing its protection already. I went ahead and sealed it w Hydro blue and the beading came back. Even if the hydro doesn’t last it’s ok because it’s so easy to apply.

Oh yeah, and I ordered more supplies. I was really impressed w the Griots Correcting Cream last time I used it so purchased some fast correcting cream this time, a speed master polisher wall mount (dual), soap, some pads and a wall banner. My garage needs a makeover so I use banners to hide its ugliness lol.

The truck is ready for winter. I got to use my new Griots GG6 polisher and I used HD Cut with a LC yellow cutting pad and HD Polish+ with LC white pad. There is a lot less vibration than the Porter Cable 7424XP. For the first time I applied sealant with a machine. I have to admit that it does go on a lot faster and more evenly. The truck got a coat of Griots One Step Sealant. It was given to me by a very fine person on this forum.

Started this today but got shutdown because of the rain. I didn’t mind working in it, but he didn’t seem to want me to. Oh well, I’ll finish it tomorrow.

I think I’m going to hit the whole car with an iron remover after seeing that.

More brake dust I assume. This car has the largest brake dust shields I’ve ever seen. Probably less that a 1/4” clearance.

Rainy day here today in Chicagoland, to AND from work, so I got after it. Today's wash was using a brand new product line, like it just debuted on Christmas. Let's just say "Hello Folks"

I used his RW, made it a little stronger because I always do because I make extra due to liberal amounts of pre-treat (only time me and liberal will EVER appear in the same sentence, LOL). Even though my car was soaking wet from driving in the rain home I did a good pre-treat and then pulled out my first mf towel soaking in the bucket, the towels are from the same mfg as the brand new RW mfg and I love these towels, big time! I wrung out the towel and it just slid across the paint, picking up everything in it's way. I used my normal 5 towels for this, came out great. I dried each panel with a drying towel from, yes, you guessed it, the same mfg

Tomorrow I will be trying his 10% Sio2 spray on my car. He says it can be cut down at a 1:1 ratio and its still effective but I cut it down to 1: .5 ratio (8 oz Sio2 to 4 oz of distilled water) I will apply this tomorrow using his newest towel, made for this type of duty, stay "tuned".

Yeah but he has a different accent than those "folks" down there and talks with his hands quite a bit

Great choice on interior treatment! They have an expanding product line, keep an eye out for their version of the spray on, hose off sealant called Touchless Sealant

I love seeing wheel transformations like that.

Those pads are tearing that car up.
What are you going to use on them?

I found Essence Plus brings out the black and makes them shine with a light hand application. At least on my car.
Then top with ECH20/Reload.

Just Opti-Seal for now.

I think I want to try out IGL Premier though and will probably get some with my next order.

Had time inbetween Premier League games, although I'm late for the 2nd match, so I decided to do Phase II of that just released product I spoke about earlier. I did 8 oz Sio2 spray and 4 oz of distilled water, shake well. Because it's cool down here as well as the product being on the thicker side I knew it was going to be a 2 towel job. I used his newest towel, The Roman and The Jack for buffing. I sprayed 4 sprays on the hood, complete overkill, remember this is a brand new product so there's a learning curve for sure. I wiped it in real good with the Roman and then buffed down with The Jack. I have to say the product is damn impressive! Since it's so new I need to find out about cure time but I used less as I went around the car, so I learned on the fly.

The tires are dressed with Hydrosilex Slick, one my few tire products that works well on my Blizzaks. The car now sits till tomorrow when it's back to work, supposed to be dry all week with increasing temps but God only knows how much salt was laid down on NYE because it was raining and somewhat newer freezing

Enjoy the pics:

There it is. Not sure it’s any glossier than before but definitely slicker. Based on ease of use, I guess I’ll keep using bead maker. At least on her car. Mine is still too good to mess with wearing just Syncro.

That's a great color on the Fit, they are great cars! I had one right before I joined AG. I traded it in on a CRZ because I missed having a manual, too bad they couldn't find me a handshaker Fit because I would probably still have it!

Yeah, small but spacious. Super low maintenance. Affordable. I don’t find it pretty but it’s not super ugly either. It’s her second and probably last, she wants something bigger and AWD next.
