What did you do today, in regards to detailing?

It’s been raining all week out here... It’s gonna rain tomorrow too... And on Thursday.

But not today...

So the least I could do is clean my wheels.

All dressed up and nowhere to go.
Rupes fine compound with yellow pads.
Car pro eraser
Two coats McKee’s Hi-def sealant
Then bead maker
Cleaned the windows and I’m ready.

This was the first time I’ve ever used an ipa, wow, did that leave the paint clean and ready to go. I see many discussion of should I use it or not? No way would i polish again without using it.

What was your exact dilution?

eldorado
to tell you the truth I used car pro eraser. like I said I've never used an ipa and figured I start with eraser. once I use it up I'll be mixing my own. I'll probably use distilled water but not sure of the dilution. I'm sure someone on this site has the recipe.

As y'all may know I've been sick in bed all week. This morning I attempted to do one quick wash which I did but forgot to take a after because my body wasn't having it. I stopped off at the urgent care to find out that maybe I have strep throat. So now my wife has quarantine me to stay in one part of the house away from everyone else. O yeah and the pressure washer in the truck broke so I gotta get that fixed on Monday.

Stopped in to autozone while I was “in town” to see if I could find the new eagle one wheel cleaner, and did not find it. Granted, I knew going in to it that advanced auto was supposed to have it but I figured it was worth a stop in since I was driving right by it.

Instead found they had a few bottles of dub wheel cleaner, so I grabbed a couple of those.

I’ve never done an iron decon on my car, so I’m curious what’ll be lingering when I finally get the time to do it.

it’s probably the most foul smelling product I’ve experienced thus far. That title was previously reserved for pinnacle advanced compound.

The truck got a rinseless wash with Wolfgang Uber and then I noticed how dull and faded some of the back trim had become. The windshield cowl was especially noticeable. All black plastic trim got two coatings of Wolfgang vinyl and rubber protectant. I was quite happy with the results especially with the cowl. Now the wiper arm project seems complete.

Sun and no snow, I’m so jealous right now. Can’t wait for spring time and the rains and then the nice warm days

Got my garage back as my buddy came and picked up the explorer. Cleaned it up and swept it out. Ready for the next one.

From yesterday: Car got a sponge bath (Big Red Sponge) with some ONR. I am amazed at how well it handled removing over 3 months worth of winter crud!!!! The ONR and BRS are my back ups that I keep at home. My good stuff- N914, microfiber mitts, and Opti Spray Wax- stays at work at the shop. My wife and I have been so busy with opposing schedules and a baby that I haven't been able to keep up my weekly Friday wash at the end of the work day.

Started the long road to cleaning up my work van I’ve recently inherited. It’s profoundly disgusting, and it’s going to be done in small increments. Today I tackled the dashboard and center console areas.

Slow and steady I also cleaned up the steering wheel area but the wheel is pretty worn out so I was really just cleaning the controls, which you can imagine were disgusting.

I really wish I had a steamer or something to get the crap really caked into the corners of the cup holders, but overall I’m happy with it. I’m not trying to make it perfect since it IS a work van. I just don’t want to feel disgusting being in it. I’d like to be able to set my phone down without thinking it’s actually getting dirty.

I took procession of 2 boxes today, can't wait to use these! The Mother's soap is getting used this Friday night, the CMX when the weather warms up and I do a proper detail on my wife's new Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross SE, the foaming tire cleaner this Friday night and Brillant Finish RW the next time I'm able to.

Not sure why Griot's Garage doesn't get more love here, they've been coming on strong in the past couple monthes and something BIG is coming next month! I don't know what it is ofcoarse but I know what I want it to be

Its the only way the satin comes...it's not bad I don't have any over spray(other then rims) or sling... usually though if I want a satin finish I'll use a water based

Well, hear me out here. While Griot's Garage Black Shine tire gel is on the glossier side it can be toned down by wiping it down afterwards....or, after a wash days later, a simple drying of the tires will give you that satin look.
