What did you do today, in regards to detailing?

Detailed Dad's Explorer, wash and decon, HD speed and perl on tires and trim. I'll get a DG 501/601 combo on top of the speed in a week or two.

I hope dad was looking down from heaven and smiling as I detailed his truck and thought about him on the first Father's Day without him. Im glad I get to drive your truck Dad.

Thank you for sharing this with us....^^^^^

I lost my Dad the day after Labor Day 2006 and I wish I had something like that to remember him, he was a car guy which is why I am too. Once again, thanks for sharing this and I'm sure he's very happy looking down on you

Awesome post, Roger.

July 19th will mark the 20th anniversary of my dad leaving the earth.

I think about him every day, but especially today on Fathers Day.

I received an Amazon gift card from my Inlaws today for Father's Day and ordered Gyeon Leather Coat per Derek0609's glowing review of it, can't wait to get it and try it

Only 5yrs since I lost my "pops" but not a day I don't think about him. I cared for him for the last 12 months of his life and he died in my arms.

Was the toughest year of my then 45 years on earth but at the same time the very best year too. What I wouldn't give to have just one more ball game with him.

To the poster who put that up......id keep that Red Explorer forever.

After realizing I posted in the wrong thread. Did a rinseless in the wifes. Had 2 weeks of dust and pollen but not bad. Mixed up 3 gallons water and 2oz of McKees 37 N-914. Dunked my pump spray in there and filled it up. Presoaked the car really well. Pleased to say that 303 sealant work pretty well. Needs some time to tame down and a wash or 2 but otherwise very impressed with the performance 6 weeks in I think. Used like 20 towels or so in the suburban. Dried with PFMs. Wiped down wheels with left over water. Had enough to fill my pump sprayer again so I can clay or presoak something else.

Grabbed some of that over the counter TW SNS and tried it out on the driver side of hood and the driver side windows. It is garage kept and not supposed to rain so not sure when it will see water but it’s there.

Also had to make a delivery at 1am and it was raining and a muddy mess in the field. My work truck had 2.5 month old UFF with UPW on top of that and topped with elixir 1 time. Pleased to say that going down the road the majority rinsed off from rain and spray from the wheels. I then spent and hr at the coin op making it a little better. It will need more pressure washing at my house but the majority and heavy stuff is off.

Also picked up some HCW and the TWSNS

That’s awesome man. This is my first Fathers Day without my Dad as well. He left me his 1980 F250 and I’m currently working out a lift kit for it and I know he’s lookin down at me laughing that I’m doing all these mods to his “old Beast”.
I can’t wait to have it done and take my daughters camping in it like I did with my dad growing up.

That will make an awesome camping truck with the benefit of having his memory ride along with you each trip. Keep those memories alive and pass them along.
My plan is to keep Dad's Explorer for a very long time and keep it in the family, if for no other reason than the sentimentality.

Took a few minutes to clean up and protect my rubber seals today. I do it often so just used McKees N 914 as a WW and was too lazy to go back inside to get the 303. I had PERL with me so used that instead to dress.

Was taking the dogs for a walk at lunch when an older neighbor of ours around the corner who sees me detailing every weekend asked if there was anything I knew he could buy to clean up the wheels on his Rav 4. The car looked to be about 4-5yrs old and honestly the wheels looked to have never been cleaned. Ugh. I told him I would stop back and help out. Upon returning he was super happy and talkative, etc. as he's a great old-timer but minds his own most of the time and must not see much house guests.

Needless to say about 45 minutes later I had his wheels looking like new. I forgot to bring some spray sealant / Hyro2 but I'll clean them up again soon as I'm sure I'll see him and do it then. That's my good deed and detailing adventure so far this week.

Yesterday I washed, clayed and began polishing the SS with plans on installing a paint coating. Well part way through I’m told that Thursday when we’re out of town it will be in my car. Forecast for here and there is for rain...of course!

Plan B.

I polished out the SS to near flawless. Dang rock chips. Instead of a coating I grabbed the TW Ice Seal & Shine and covered the SS from top to bottom and stem to stern. Figure Friday night it’ll get a quick rinseless followed by a light polish. That should give me an easy Saturday morning to wipe it down then to coat it. Sunday I will apply their topper and Monday it’s back to the office with the cleanest ride in the parking lot.

Sorry, just the usual garage pic as it’s been raining all afternoon.

I’m going back out in a bit to wipe down the interior and especially get that rear door glass. Doh!

Sounds like something I would do. Great generosity.

Just finished washing the Soul and topped it with Gold Zirkon to see if it will make the metallic flakes pop a little more. We will see when the sun pops out in the morning.
