What did you do today, in regards to detailing?

Tires are still looking great with that trim coating!

Yea but the only thing is the trim coating doesn’t last anywhere near as long as the tire coating does when it comes to tires... Ive used the trim coating as a topper before, but I’ve never tried using the trim coating as the base, so we’ll see how it goes. I hope I didn’t screw up because I put alot of elbow grease into the prep. Lol.

Hell, Ric...... I am just thankful you are still here to post about it, and doing well with a new Caddy. :) :)

You know I’m not really all over the internet like alot of people these days.. But I’m sure glad to be here and around so many genuine cool people who all seem to get along great without any bs or drama.

Car people are generally cool, but when you put cars + detailing together you find the cream of the crop.

I was reading through that other thread last night and seeing comments like these in the following quotes damn near brought a tear to my eye. I can’t thank you guys enough for the well wishes and I believe the good vibes were as strong as good vibes can get. You guys are Great!

Hope you soon are fully recovered and cruising in a new Cadillac!

Regards
Tony

Please get better soon and I'm sure a new caddy will come your way!

The Caddy did its job and sacrificed itself to save you.
I'm sure that you'll find one ever better than the last one.

I wish you a speedy recovery and good vibes towards finding a new ride

Ric, car people always come through, you can see that right there in those quotes

Amen to that, Bro.

I have been on way too many forums with (expletive) people who (expletive). Lol

Just a sampling of the new human garbage factory care of the internet.

AGO is WAY different, and I am thankful for all of the content AND people like you. :)

Now we are getting somewhere.

I remember you saying it doesn't last as long. I hope you run them for a bit to check it out.
Cuz it sure is a mess on trim
I only have 2 bottles of the tire coating left. Then I have to spend bigger money to get something that I hope I am happy with.

Yea that trim coating is hit or miss depending on the trim.. I wish there was some sort of guide to know what certain trim is made of because it’s not always easy to tell if just by looking at it. Sometimes the trim coating works great, but on certain trim it seems to go on real dry and almost turn into a dirty mess.

I applied 1 layer of the tire coating on top of the trim coating and it went on perfect.. I’m going to apply at least 1 more layer.

Well ive been off from work for almost 2 weeks since dislocating my knee for the 3rd time. So while im waiting on doc to see what next step is which I believe is gonna be surgery. Ive been couped up in the house. Well anyone who knows me knows i cant not do anything. I always have to be working or playing with my kids. My wife says im crazy but thats a different story. Anyway i decided to go out and give my denali a waterless wash using the meguiars waterless wash and wax. ( trying to use up so i can get something else). I then put tire dressing on. Again that ive had awhile and decided to start using it up. That is armor all extreme tire shine. Says ur supposed to spray on and let dry no touching it. Well lately ive been applying it with an applicator and it works great and lasts a while too. Next i clayed my hood and then applied the duragloss 105 that i got a month ago. Have to say i love the way it works. And basically thats all i did. I just had to get out the house for a bit. Here is a pic

Took my lunch hour to clean the cushion covers off our family room couch. Soaked them in All Free and some APC for 10 minutes, agitated them, then laid them out and hit them with a 25:1 mix of water/folex using the Tornador :dblthumb2: OMG it was super each and fast and the machine did all the work.

Rinsed them on the patio table outside then spun them in the washer. Now heading back to work and they are in the drier on low heat for 2 min/air fluff for 10 and will repeat if necessary. No 50/50 or other pics but I may end up getting some as the bottom cushions are for another day. This weekend I'll pull the air hose in through the garage and hit the couch/frame itself with the Velocity Vac Extractor. I just love that it uses so little liquid and yet gets the job done so nicely.

So my new rims came in a day early, so I moved my scheduled day off up to today and got them installed. I also had my stock rims wrapped with brand new Blizzak WS90's and are being stored at Discount Tire till Halloween or later depending on the weather for the upcoming winter driving season.

Anywho the new wheels are Konig Oversteers, 18 x 8 w/+45mm offset and they fit perfectly! I had the idea to see if the OEM centercap would fit and it did and I think it's a great touch. This time next year my OEM tires will be swapped out for some Conti Extreme Contact Sports one size bigger, 235/40/18 to take advantage of the 8" width. These wheels should help in handling as they're a little lighter but with more width and a tad more offset (+50mm stock vs. +45mm aftermarket) and we'll see in just 25 more days when I make my yearly trip to the Tail of the Dragon, now in its 16th year

So I had to get gas so you can see them outside and then I got down in the Garage and wash it as the roads closer to the Discount Tire were a little damp and besides I had to see what the car looks like with it's new look as fresh s possible. I sprayed Brake Buster on the tires and yes, the wheels too, fresh is fresh and besides I wanted to see how much easier these are to clean and they are MUCH, MUCH easier!! After rinsing the tires and wheels down I busted out the IK Foam 9 with 2.5 ounces of TW Snow Foam in it, topped off with water and got after it and this stuff foams like crazy, even in the IK Foam 9 pumped up to 75 psi. I foamed the entire car, wheelwells and even the tires and wheels again, let dwell and rinsed down with the Worx hydroshot. Once I was done I reached for the 303 Touchless Sealant to protect the new wheels. I plan on coating them when they come off so didn't wanna put anything too permanent on there but before I go down to the Dragon I will spray on some Sonax Rim Shield because the wheels get worked on that trip down to the Dragon

Dried the car off with the Sucker and Sucker Jr and now I'm done...for now because later I'm coming back down to add a light coat of OPT tire coating, like I said, FRESH is FRESH

Thank you for looking and what do you think of the new rims

Wheels look good. For some reason that design makes them look smaller than stock though.

Man Klasse, the new wheels look great! Makes the blue paint pop even more than before.
