What did you do today, in regards to detailing?

I rinseless washed the SS using Adam’s Rinseless wash and a bucket full of MF rags in a bucket of warm water. Pretreated each panel with Kwazar sprayer filled with warm wash solution. Car was pretty clean but had a bit of road salt dust on it, especially behind the wheels. Wheels were cleaned with the same product but in the wheel bucket. I did apply Adam’s Ceramic Boost to the wheels for added protection in the upcoming winter. I used the last of the CarPro Perl I had on the tires. Then it was time for a quick shower before picking up the girls from school. (They hate my SS.)

Is it the new Boost? How do you like it?

Yes, it’s Ceramic Boost 2.0. A little goes a long way. An example: the hood got 4 maybe 5 spritzes. More than that and I got some streaking but not streaking like the original. Beads like crazy, helps with water spotting and seems to hold up on the wheels as well as CarPro Hydro2.

Boost....oh, THAT kinda boost, sorry, I'm a gearhead first, even on a detailing forum and thought we were talking about Mr. Paul's future new ride

Waterless with Wolfgang Uber and a quick spray down with 303 Spray Wax on my wheels. Everything worked well considering it was roughly 38-40 degrees. Lol

Washed the wife's car and tried a couple of new (to me) products. Beadmaker and Meguiars hyper dressing. Have used Meguiars d156 Xpress wax over collinte 845 before and I really, really like it.

As I was washing car it was beading so well that I almost chickened out trying the beadmaker that is how much I like d156. Anyway I clayed the roof and hood, put down some collinte 476 on those panels and then did everything in beadmaker.

Used the hyper dressing on trim, tires and motor. Really liked the results on the motor

Did wheel wells in hyper dressing also. Don't know if pics will do it justice.

Used cg VRP as trim dressing before.

Yes I know I'm a little behind the times. All this new stuff, ceramic and all sounds like the way to go but it's also intimidating.

Also a couple of pics of hyper dressing on my f-150.
Hyper dressing looks good on motors.

After 13 days straight at work, I spent my day off detailing. Just me, my car and the dog............ utter bliss!

Started on the XR8. As well as my usual wash procedure, today I tried out a new product, Gyeon Tire cleaner.

Stripped and clean.

And dressed again.

I also gave it another coating of NV Lustre.

Jaguar was next, with the same treatment to its tires.

I then directed my attention to the Mustang.

Again, tires cleaned and dressed. Then some Pearl for the interior.

Three clean cars. Bliss!

Got to 55 today. So just got done with a proper driveway wash. Clean. For now.

A friend of mine bought a car wash and called me up to do a detailing job he sold to a 2006 Mercedes Benz truck owner.

Perfect opportunity to try my new Rupes LHR21 Mark 3 (used Flex 3401since 2012) polisher.

Also tried some P&S Brake Buster for rims and tires, did a pretty good job at 5:1.

Paired with M110 & M210 gave this one it's glory back topped with Collinite 476s to last through winter.View attachment 68376View attachment 68377

No pics (busy day) but I got my winter set up FINALLY on the RS.
Cleaned up the summer set before storing them away.

It was “reset weekend” on the families cars.

My Acura: Washed, iron-x, lightly clayed using the BF synthetic mitt on the hood, then applied three coats of Pinnacle Liquid Souveran Wax using DA. Cleaned windows with Invisible Glass and recoated the windows with Pinnacle Glass Coat.

On the Interior, used GG Interior cleaner on all hard surfaces, then used Black Label Leather Balm on the front seats (back seats were done a couple of months ago, no one sits in them). I must say I’m very impressed with the Black Label Leather Balm, makes the leather feel very niice!

Only thing left is to strip the OPT Tire Coating on the front two tires and reapply, hopefully next weekend.

The Wife’s X3: washed, iron-x, full clay using the synthetic mitt, then reapplied Sonax PNS to the entire car! Dressed all of the black plastic trim and tires with Blackfire Tire and Trim Sealant. What a difference between Souveran and PNS, one is super slick and the other is buttery soft!

Wiped down all of the interior hard surfaces with GG interior cleaner and cleaned windows with Invisible Glass.

This was the first time I have used a tire cleaner, never thought it was necessary. After using the Gyeon tire cleaner I now understand the role these type of products play. With the tire stripped, dressing was made easier and the quality of the end result better. I have been hobby detailing for 17 years now, but you never stop learning and modifying your technique. Even without having tried other similar products, I liked the ease of use of the Gyeon and could recommend.

Coating was mucked up from to many toppers or road grime so did a maintenance wash.

Foamed with griots surface wash.
Bucket wash with reset
Foamed and wash with McKee’s coating prep soap

Here’s where I was going to spray with a light APC and iron X and Tar X. Funny thing is it didn’t need it. The McKee’s coating prep removed what ever was gumming up my coating. It was only on lower half of car.

Washed once more with reset just to make sure it was Uber clean and then topped with Cosmic.

McKee's 37 Coating Prep Wash is legit. It really seems to remove old sealants and stuff w/o much trouble.

So here’s the thing most of my car is coated except hood. After final wash I tested beading and it was still their. But much beads laying flatter. I did final reset wash to make sure nothing was on.

Definetly degraded the coating as water didn’t run off like in first picture but slowly sheeted off. First test I gotta say this stuff worked. Will now use this once every 2-4 months as coating maintenance wash

Sorry forgot to show water running off before. Didn’t apply cosmic to hood as I will test Fenylab pure rinseless on it before applying a 50/50 cancoat moonlight
