What did you do today, in regards to detailing?

Your wash technique must be top notch. I wash my Honda with soft paint a lot more frequently than the Audi and in over 9 years of ownership it has no swirls or marring as well.

BMW turned out nice. [I forgot to take after shots]
So nice that he wants me to hook up his Escalade now.

Speaking of hard or soft paint, my Hyundai looked great when I got it and still don't see any swirls in my paint. I mean I feel my wash technique is good but even still, after 8 months I see nothing anywhere. Because it's an Asian branded car, on the less expensive side, I'd assume its soft paint

Got a little car wash therapy in today. Between the colder temps and me being sick (more me being sick) I haven't been able to wash the car.

Last Monday we got 9-10 inches of snow and it hadn't been washed for a few days before that. Now the day after the snow storm I did go to the pay and spray and I used a pre treat and blasted off some of the heavy salt/dirt. Anyways I'm rambling.

So wheels wells and tires were foamed up with Brake Buster and scrubbed with various brushes. Car got a thorough rinse before being washed with Reset and rinsed again. Blow dried and then followed up with BSD diluted. Tires dressed with PERL. Jams and engine bay wiped down with BSD also. Glass received a final touch of some Megs X Wax.

Gave the interior a bit of love too. Pulled out my drivers rubber floor mat (no one else has been in the car recently) and cleaned that up. Did a quick vacuum and then wiped down the interior with McKees 37 fast interior detailer. We'll see how long it stays clean. It's pretty wet out right now with the 43 degree temps and sun melting everything.

Only thing I could do today (39 degrees, windy, and misting/raining) was watch my 476s bead like crazy. :)

Not just today, but today I finished a coating job I had been working on for a friend with a brand new “1320” Dodge Challenger. The car will be stored for the winter so I was able to take my time with it over the past few weeks.

About 25 hours total (I work at my own pace). Washed, chemical and mechanical decon, polished with Sonax 04-06, jeweled with Renny Doyle Double Black Envy Jeweling Polish, coated with CQUK 3.0 (2 coats), topped with Gliss, coated trim with Polish Angel Black Bond, coated windshield and wheels with McKee’s 37 coatings, dressed tires... I think he’ll be glad he trusted me .

Gave the XR6 a wash today, having been left dirty after it's service last week. (Joy of Joys, the service department followed my request, and note on the gear selector, to NOT WASH IT!!).

Got to use my new Speedmaster brush and applicator pad.

I also cleaned the Ranger after it's mulch carrying duties over the weekend. Whilst I was at I also fixed up a bit deterioration on the headlamps.

Well, I picked up a new to me pressure washer. Gas powered Generac, 1500 PSI, 2.0GPM. Today was the day to change the spark plug, air filter and oil seeing as how my son made me leave work to pick him up sick at school. Now, it's just the horrible wait till Thursday when my Obsessed Garage Mosmatic wand/sprayer, MTM PF22 foam cannon and hoses show up!! Hurry up UPS! I'll pickup an electric washer later.

Opened my package from ebay
Got a couple of these for my wheels for my own maintenance washes!!

Ahh man that type of anticipation is killer. Lol.

Even worse when you buy a group of things that will eventually come together or will be applied onto a vehicle such as accessories, but you buy them on Ebay and some of your stuff is shipping from USA but some is coming from China.. You might as well forget about trying to wait by the door because you’ll drive yourself nuts. Lol.

“Why did I have to save $2 dollars and buy that 1 part from Chinese seller”?!
That $2 bucks you saved could cost you an extra month of waiting. Lol.

Now you tell me this? I bought a paint thickness gauge and it turned out to be on the proverbial slow boat.

Yesterday I cleaned and coated my son's tires and wheels on his F150 with cancoat and M37 tire coating.

1st cleaning

2nd cleaning

This morning it was above 40 and I haven't washed my car since all the snow we have had so I figured today would be a good time to finally do it.

1st I used my IK9 and foamed with 3d super pre-soak.
i-wJ9Kbmx-X2.jpg

Then did a Pressure rinse followed with a foaming with Fast Foam

After 10 minutes I did a bucket wash with reset.
i-w6qvSS4-X2.jpg

I then pulled it into the garage and dried with my leaf blower.
