What did you do today, in regards to detailing?

Have you heard the podcast I was invited on yet? We have a 2 parter about the C8

I haven’t no, I’ve seen a thread you made, but I’m still not “into” podcasts just yet. In saying that though I’ve never listened to an automotive one.

Did a quick detail on my friends car today. It’s a nice 2006 Civic SI with the factory installed clear coat failure option. Really horrible how many 8th gen Civics are out there with clear missing and not yet 15 years old.

When he pulled up the clear had some oxidation where it hadn’t failed and a good amount of road grime. This is a metallic black paint but there was not a flake to be seen when he first pulled up. These pics were taken after the waterless wash, paint was quite dull and looked like a jet black.

Anyway just did a quick AIO buff wiped down with Megs UFF and sealed up his wheels. He was amazed how well it turned out in just a few hours and doing it with no hose or power outlet(waterless wash and cordless polisher). About 3 hours later the paint popped, was incredibly glossy and returned to being metallic black pearl(Flamenco Black Pearl).

Thanks Paul! I forgot how rewarding detailing a neglected black car can be but I don’t ever want to own another one haha

You ain't kidding.

Oh, and it's dirty again.....:laughing:

Well, not sure how you get "into listening" to podcasts other than clicking play and listening

Vac'd out the ES, sprayed some interior scent in there, treated the leather seats with "something" I had in a small bottle in the trunk and finished up with Mckee's fast interior detailer.

Oh yeah, applied a light coat of Hydrosilex tire dressing, why not

According to Doug Demuro “nobody listens to AM radio anymore”
...So anything’s possible... Including having to get into listening to podcasts.lol.

But, I have listened to some of Roger's PC's. I liked the info and banter.

Well, thanks but it's not my podcast, I'm the "man in the field" as I'm called. I'm all about banter and I know I've poured it on too much here in the past and is partially why I'm in the position I'm in in life right now....butt, I hope it follows my mantra, one shared by many...."EVERYTHING HAPPENS FOR A REASON"

I just find myself having a hard time focusing on the podcast as I usually want to do something physical and then they become background noise to whatever I’m doing. I struggle with multitasking what I’m doing with my hands and not just hearing but listening to the podcasts. I’ll hear something of interest and then stop what I’m doing to rewind and listen over again only to need to rewind further because I’m not “getting the whole picture” so to speak. My wife loves them though and I listen occasionally if I hear something of interest or to just make a remark and annoy her.

Oh I think podcasts are great. When I 1st got iphone it was 1 of the features I found most interest in.
They’re especially great to listen to while detailing as you don’t have to constantly stop and reach back into your pocket to find another interesting yet short vid to listen to on youtube.

Youtube is crazy inconvenient and distracting while trying to get a job done. It’s caused me countless hours of delay on detailing jobs.

Well...you don't know me but it's a chance to put a voice with a screen name

Rain was forecast all day today here, but it did not start until around noon.

I was able to just get a quick 2BM wash with Hyper Wash to knock off the pollen. (Which will be back tomorrow). :(

Dried with my PFM. This towel still amazes me each time I use it. Worth every penny.

Paul since I haven't messed with anyone on here in a whole. I'm gonna talk to the big man this morning to send a big semi truck load of pollen your way

The PFM towels is one of the best purchases I have made...period, worth every penny! I wish I would’ve bought it before I bought the bath matt towels!
