What did you do today, in regards to detailing?

I’m still working on a full detail on my recently purchased 2008 Tacoma. Today I cleaned the gas cap area and started on the interior/seat. Note: there is a little reflection however I have not started restoring the paint on this panel.

Nice cap detail! So it has 400k plus on it eh? Awesome!

Thank you. Yes 409,632 miles and it still runs, rides and drives like new. I had an ‘06 Tacoma I bought new and sold it in 2014 for nearly as much as I paid for it. I have regretted it and have been looking for another one and finally found this one. It will look almost like new when I finish detailing it. It will probably take a few weeks to finish.

Washed, dried with carp to elixir, vacuumed interior, wiped down with megs quick interior Detailer, glass cleaned inside and out, tires dressed. Much better

After a Nor'easter last night that brought 2 inches of rain and high winds through the area, I knew that the vehicles needed treatment. The storms brought lower temperatures in the high 30's so it was perfect for a car wash dressed in shorts and a t shirt but I did wear my ice fishing gloves. I used my foam gun with multiple wash mitts and dried with my McKees Turbo dryer. Life is good.

Feel free to laugh at this, I did at the time, still laughing now, but not quite as much.

I foam washed the Qashqai this morning. To remove the dried dust spots from the storm we had a couple of days ago. I decided to just do it on the driveway. Reasonable downward slope and painted. Rinsing the foam off, I stepped onto a soapy bit with my left foot, cue the slide, transfer weight to right foot, cue the next slide. Both feet sliding down hill, pressure washer in left hand suddenly shoots water up in the air. I'm left sitting on the wet driveway giggling to my self, right butt cheek, and right palm, both stinging. I thought I'd do more damage, still mowed the lawns, and walked the dogs this afternoon. Sitting watching TV right now, my right wrist is really sore, no swelling though, so nothing's broken, luckily I'm left handed.

Only before shots, it's yet to be properly finished, but it's undercover now. View attachment 71792

After church mom stopped by for lunch with the family and a quick car wash. I rinseless washed the Corolla using ONR & the BRS. I decided to do the Ivan La Croix method of rinseless wash, clay towel and OptiSeal at the same time. It worked great! McKee’s Glass Coating on the windshield and an interior wipe down with Adam’s Interior Detailer with Microban. No pictures as I just plain forgot. Mom was ecstatic with her clean Corolla.

Here's my latest work, just an old 2-door Ford

How's the shine look?

The garden hose is frozen but these deplorable tires and wheels need treatment. A Worx Hydroshot, a bucket of water, Griots Heavy Duty Wheel Cleaner and LA Totally Awesome will complete the project.

… Another work in progress. This car is a year old, 4500 miles… I believe it lives in Swirl City.

Deplorable??

Damn, I hope you don't make a trip through the North Fork to look at my rollers any time soon, UD............

So you like that HydroShot? I know Roger likes his a lot.

Tried TW Seal 'n Shine on both sides of another windshield using diapers to get rid of the microfiber "dust" from another so called glass cloth.

Driving into the sun it is much better.

I really do like the Hydroshot. It’s a great way to get free flowing water in the winter. It came in handy today when I couldn’t get water to flow through the hose. Drawing water from a bucket makes for an easy water source.

What do they rate the psi @ UD?

They claim it increases water pressure 10x so the maximum would be around 300 psi. That’s based on the best city pressure being around 30 psi.

Note to self:

Stop quoting prices before seeing how bad the paint is! 🧐

This is why I will be a high-end detailer.
Morally, I can’t let this car go home looking like complete *****!
